Originally I posted this map preview 3 weeks ago, after a short break from forging I came back and had no want to complete this map. It was based around 4v4 combat but may be more suited for 2v2 or 3v3. Though I doubt it will ever see a battle at this point *cry face*... Explanations and humour aside, below you'll find pictures of the map: Click below for more pictures Spoiler The maps main feature is the Man Cannon through the center structure. By using a custom power-up(speed boost) the player has a direct and dangerous route through the center, ending in a cushioned landing out front of the opposite Man Cannon. The flow would play out differently than on most maps, and I would imagine combat would stagnate in competitive matches. Casual matches might be interesting... Power weapons are; Focus Rifle (bottom), and Fuel Rod Gun (top) My hope is someone can find some sort of inspiration from what I made here, otherwise enjoy the pictures.
To much walkway, not enough larger play space. At least from what I can see. Looks pretty decent though.
It does lack large playing space and offers a lot of walkways, but that is what I was aiming for. Not to infer the map doesn't offer long range sight lines, or an absence of LOS blocking for that matter. I tried to maintain a balanced freedom of movement in the contested areas. For example you can jump onto the orange bridge from any of the surrounding walkways and there are a few unconventional exits from that point. -Additional pictures added to the OP.
I agree w/ cryppy. Definitely too much walkway. Also, the lack of railing could be an issue for people strafing.
@cluckinho10; That's true, I'm interested to see how it plays and I've also wondered if I should add more railings. The attractive/tactical locations don't require a risky approach; there is a lot of cover and LOS so I don't think strafing would be necessary in certain locations. Though it could still be an issue. I plan on testing it in a custom game when I've finished with the spawn points and objectives. @SinlessLegend; I think by "dance floor" you're referring to Green, it's a hovering platform above Orange. I haven't taken pictures of the rest of the map just yet. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Bump More pictures added to the post, and a progress update.
