Ziggurats

    Overview

    Right, Although I am a new member of Forgehub, I have been forging for a while, this is the first of my maps I have decided to upload.

    It is based around the principle of a Ziggurat, which for those who don't know, is basically a pyramid, but more geometrically block-y. :) There are 4 of these Ziggurats, each connected to the adjacent two by a bridge, and, of course, the floor. It was originally designed to be used with King of the Hill, however it has now been expanded to work with the variants highlighted in the map information.

    The map has long sight lines, broken by the ability to drop down to the lower levels, which are obscured by the bridges and the Ziggurats themselves. The top of the Ziggurats are good for long ranging, however you are very exposed, and people can climb up behind you.

    There is a sword in the lower middle of the map, beneath the central platform. This has a 90 second respawn time.

    Game Types

    Note: All game types using this map must use 150% jump height, else you cannot climb the Ziggurats.

    Slayer

    A sniper rifle is placed into the middle of the map on slayer game types only. Also, it only supports Red and Blue teams for slayer game types.

    King of the Hill

    For king of the Hill, the map has seven Hills, one at the top of each Ziggurat, on in the middle of each Ziggurat, and one where the sniper is placed during Slayer games.

    Decent Tactics

    Infection

    For this game type, the humans spawn on on Ziggurat, whilst the zombies spawn on the Ziggurat in the opposite corner. The map works well for this, as there are few camping spots, and increasing the zombies jump height will allow them to jump clean onto the bridges.

    Territories

    The territories sit atop the two Ziggurats that are not spawned on top of, and in the center, at the location of the sniper in Slayer games.

    OddBall

    The OddBall spawns at the location of the sniper rifle.

    Capture the Flag

    The flags spawn within the bases of the Ziggurats.

    Stockpile

    The flags spawn on top of the two unused Ziggurats and in the center, at the sniper spawn.

    This map I great the only thing I am not a big fan of is the grid because I fin that grids make the map look somewhat sloppy and rushed. Besides that I think this map is great and I see lots of great original ideas on this map like the pyramid idea I haven't seen that done. Great map

    I liked the map you made Oweirdone. I liked the idea of the four "Ziggurats" on the sides because it brings the ancient ruins feeling to the map. You're very right about need it extra 50% jump height cause.... the pyramids are very high. Having the lobby sixteen players and play this map will get a tiny bit hectic. I liked the idea of the map and the size of it. Great Job on your first time posting this. - EpICx ReMiX XD

    Hey :) I have no idea why people are asking about Mario kart, we (me and my bro) haven't played it, why do you think I got inspiration from it?

    Looks interesting. With 100% jump height can you crouch jump up to the top?

    Ahhhhh, this is why :) No, it isn't based around this, I haven't even played this.

    The original idea was the exact opposite of this: take an upside down ziggurat out of a flat surface and you have what it was originally going to look like. I decided against it as i didn't think it'd work too well :\

    As for the crouch jump: No, it is a little bit too high, you have to grenade jump to get up with 100% jump height.
