Redemption 3.0

    Redemption [3.0] -

    Last week I posted Redemption, a large BTB map with a focus on vehicular warfare. From the feedback I received it was obvious that many people felt that while the map had strong potential it was far too open, leaving players exposed and vulnerable. So this week I put in a large amount of time into refining the map and reducing the scale by bringing the bases of the map closer together (suggested by Res) which also allowed me to increase the amount of cover across the map. While the changes I've made are subtle, it took several hours to meticulously reconstruct each base. IMO, I feel the changes significantly improve upon an already solid BTB map!

    Weapons:

    6x DMR [45 sec | 2 clips]
    4x Needle Rifle [45 sec| 2 clips]
    2x Sniper Rifle [120 sec | 1 clip]
    1x Spartan Laser [180 sec | NA | Now only in Slayer Gametypes]
    1x Rocket Launcher [180 sec | 1 clip]
    2x Grenade Launcher [120 sec | 2 clips]
    4x Plasma Pistol [45 sec | NA]
    2x Concussion Rifle [60 sec | 1 clip]
    2x Needler [45 sec | 2 clips]
    4x Frag Grenades [45 sec | NA]
    4x Plasma Grenades [45 sec | NA]
    4x Health Packs [45 sec]

    Vehicles:

    4x Mongooses [45 sec]
    2x Warthogs [90 sec]
    2x Ghosts [90 sec]
    2x Banshees [180 sec| Now only in Slayer Gametypes]

    Banshee [and Spartan Laser] now only spawns in Slayer Gametypes.

    In objective gametypes [neutral flag, neutral bomb], the spartan laser is removed and replaced with the objective.

    I've strategically placed rocks to optimize cover and to reduce LoSs, so please give the map a DL before leaving feedback on the amount cover.

    I really do think that this map has great potential. I love the style of the buildings, they are extremely fitting in their own ways. I'm gonna grab a group of friends and try this out.

    Woah, 0_O I love your interior layout, the buildings really demonstrate life, both in the aesthetics, the forerunner architecture is one of the factors that most inspires me in Halo. I hope it reaches a lot of matchs, certainly this map deserves a download. Of view, it seemed that it play very well with Invasion Slayer. Keep it up Bro, lately I've noticed that the concept of simple aesthetic can be seen in another way when you add some details in the right places.

    Hey Redy, thanks for the comment! I was definitely going for a aesthetically forerunner feel. Why haven't I seen more of your maps recently? I loved sustenance and would love to see more like it!

    Looks very clean and I am glad you added some cover it improves the game play a lot I love the forunner design it always fascinates me when gets it close to spot on or spot on and this is one of those maps.I am glad you decided to get rid of the wraith spawn because it was one of the lest appealing thing on the. besides that really nice map and I can't wait to see more of your maps

    Exactly Hydro! Lately I've been very booked in forge, finishing some Invasion maps, which eventually hold me for a long time, I had to learn some complex "Fire Team" mechanics and etc... But I can guarantee new ones for this season. Now, I'm just materializing future new projects in mind. XD

    I really like this map. I like the smaller scale BTB maps because it can get a little more up close and personal.

    Thanks man, like I said I spent a lot of time working to improve the amount of cover throughtout the map, and I think it turned out quite well! As for the wraith? I never actually had a wraith on the map (I personally think that vehicles like the wraith, scorpion, or revnant are way overpowered and detract from gameplay). I do however have a banshee on the map (one at each base), but they only spawn in slayer and not in objective game types.

    I'm glad you like it. I too like smaller (midsized) BTB maps, and that's what I attempted to create here!

    I did notice one thing though. I don't know if it's just me, but if you go behind the bases, there is some extreme frame rate issues.

    Were you in forge mode? Because, yes, there is a lot of FR lag behind the structures specifically in forge; however, in an actual game (from my experience) there has been none. Thanks for the feedback tho...

    Yea I was in forge exploring it when I noticed. I haven't tried it in Customs though.
