Hazbin Created by Remember Isao24 Designed for Slayer and Oddball Description: This map is a multi-floored map inspired by an asymmetric map from Quake Arena. There are 4 slopes to the second floor and there are numerous places to drop down or to lift up for quicker movement among the map. Also in irony, bottom mid is not the lowest point in the map. Rather, there are two ways that flow down into the basements of the map. This map was actually a quick forge, since I had a long train of thought while forging this, but the final touches for the map were ready to screw me over. With one floor above another, pieces weren't agreeing with me. But now it's done and I'm happy to be finished with it. By the way, King of the Hill was originally an option, but the screenlag by the sidehills is immense. Weapon set: DMR x 6 Grenade Launcher x 2 (118/3) Spawns on the highest platform on each side Active Camo x 1 (120/Not At Start) Sticky x 4 Frag x 4 Health Pack x 2 Screenshots: Starting Spawn Top Plat; Grenade Launcher Spawn (With lift on the left) Basement Another view of basement Transition Area For Oddball: Play the ball on the second floor (Takes a real throw) Or toss it here Fall to your death here Or throw the ball at the lift to play to a teammate (The other lifts work too but not as necesary) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Hazbin Feedback is surely welcome and appreciated because I want to get to try and perfect this design, since it is my most interesting one IMO. So leave feedback and enjoy
Looks interesting RiP. Shoot me a FR on my new tag, would love to get some games on this with you. RedSchnitzelSec.
It's finally happening...RIP is making not-remakes! Layout looks unique and well forged. You know I got a weakness for Quake maps. How did that asym remake work out for you?
The Asym hasn't gotten anywhere yet, but hopefully I'll get to it sometime. I've considered reforging it in the quarry (budget reasons, but it would force me to reshape the wall), while redesigning the completely weaker half. And I've never made a remake! EVur! @Schnitz: I'll try to remember to add you tomorrow. I have honestly played many customs lately, but some day I'll get back into it.
Dude, I only just got back into playing last week... And its about impossibly to get a custom lobby together anymore.
Map looks solid. But could you throw up an overview? without taking the time to DL and give it a fly through it's difficult to get an overall idea of the flow of the map!
It's too screenlaggy to do that, but I'll consider it still, though there is a whole bottom ring that would be missed. I do realize that the layout of the map is hard to capture with seperate screenshots. Here's a description though. The upper ring is practically a race track with upward slopes towards the middle where the ends of the bridge are connected. As for flowing upward. There are 4 lifts among the bottom with 4 slopes leading to the 2nd floor. The bottom floor is also a race track with additional routes that lead to the top.
I wish you built the map above the reef in forgeworld (don't know its name). It would have eliminated all of the waves coming up and down the wall coliseum (which is said to produce FR issues). Plus it would make it look a tad cleaner. The map is solid, I like the LOS dynamics with the mid bridge and the other two tower positions. Would be nice to run games on this. Good work!
Yeah, I've been told about the calmer waves by the sandbar lol. If I have enough new ideas for the map then I'll reforge it there. Edit: Started a reforge, might only be 2v2 though. I personally want to make it more simple
Love the simple design of everything it looks very nice the top part of the map is a little gray but the bottom part with the water and tunnels looks fine,I would try to fix the platform with the water by completely sub merging the platform of completely raising it out of the water altogether because when the waves come and the floor flashes from water to floor it looks ugly. good map though
This map looks very nice indeed. I haven't downloaded a map for a few months now, and this actually forced me to break that... The only thing I dislike so far is a visual. I don't like the flooded basement areas. They don't fit in visually from my point of view and the flooded hallways have been done to the point it makes a map look a lot worse than it actually is. It'd be interesting to see with a grass (or rock for that matter) flooring down there, or even just your own style of flooring would be better. I look forward to playing this with someone some time soon
Thank you both for the responses, which it sounds like I should get rid of the water altogether. I forged this map originally in the coliseum so that was the original floor I had (but screenlag was horrendous). Now forging it outside, I personally don't like seeing a coliseum wall as the floor and the wall adjacent to it, so I decided to go with water. As for using other objects, it would create more screenlag (which this map already has) and my budgets gone anyways. Anyways I'm actually reforging this, which it'll be smaller and possibly not big enough for 4v4. If I reforge another version big enough, I'll either use calm water or none at all.
No one would play Oddball on this Ball, because no gametype is available without lolbloom. But I'll give it a download and check it out soon.
I'm not sure how large the area is you'll need, but could you not build it over the quarry and use the 'flat' grass as the flooring in there?
Personally I think I could but part of the floor would have to be covered with another object, because my map is about the size of the coliseum and the quarry is not wide enough to fit grass among the bottom (when the sides are corner-to-corner)
