    DESCRIPTION

"MLG based map built for Slayer and CTF. 2-8 players recommended."

Providence is an MLG based symmetrical map made for Team Slayer and CTF. This is the second version of this particular design and is in its testing phases. I personally believe I have perfected its layout but I'm certainly open to any suggestions, and would actually love to hear them (after all, it's why I'm posting this here first). It has the same power weapon set up as MLG Warlock and MLG Element (Active Camo top mid + Grenade Launcher bottom mid) because I feel it is relatively similar to the two, and it gives the same feel as those in top gold/mid. Providence has two lines of symmetry, but unlike Warlock and Element, is not four-way symmetrical. Game play in my own opinion and in a few of my friend's opinions was quite enjoyable, but it would be great to hear thoughts of your own! (DOWNLOAD PROVIDENCE)

    WEAPONS

    x6 DMRs [2 Clips/10 Secs]
    x4 Needle Rifles [2 Clips/10 Secs]
    x4 Frag Grenades [30 Secs]
    x4 Plasma Grenades [30 Secs]
    x2 Magnums [2 Clips/30 Secs]
    x2 Plasma Pistols [90 Secs]
    x2 Health Packs [30 Secs]
    x1 Grenade Launcher [4 Clips/118 Secs]

    SCREENSHOTS

Remember it's symmetrical, so when I show a particular side, it is exactly the same on the other.

For starters, an overview to show the basic layout of the map, color coded.

Have you been able to reduce the framerate at all?

Why is this a preview? It looks solid enough. I get that your looking for feedback on what can be improved, but that's what the TG is for.

As far as the map looks it kinda looks to me like Warlock bought Foundation a couple drinks, they hit it off, and now this is they're baby that Warlock is suing Foundation for for child support (too much?). Anyway it looks quite good! I'll test it and maybe tell you what I think.

Looks pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is the OS used to represent red (and I'm guessing camo for blue) base. It's really un-necessary.

Some of the walling surrounding the map could use more color, as well.

I guess I'll DL and take a look around.

Looks fairly solid to me, albeit another un-inspirational symmetrical map... The room in the 3rd screen shot looks a bit small as well, IMO. Definitely a major lack of color as well. Try to work out the Colosseum walls some how. There's plenty of great pieces in the platforms and incline categories you can use to spice the map up a bit. I'm rather fond of the bridge ramp piece for walling, or a combination of platfrom xl and braces.

I'm not, ah... 100% sure. Nor am I sure on how exactly I am to go about doing so... *shot*

<_< I'm being thorough... xD I just want it as close to perfect as possible before I put it up.

Unnecessary indeed. I pretty much used those as fillers for that brace because the middle of it looked awfully empty without it. Would you suggest removing both the brace and the power-up completely? I'd personally say either none goes or both. When it comes to your wall complaint, I may just remove these to make more budget for enhancing the walls...?

True story. It is not that I don't want color in the map or anything of the like, or even that I don't like the pieces you suggested, it's simply that I don't think I have the objects to do so? I found myself struggling to make the map follow one scheme throughout (which is not to say I succeeded... -_-), for which I may have sacrificed a few platforms and ramps here and there... If any ideas on how to replace the coliseum walls with something more colorful and not impossible, I'll try them out.

I would say remove the Power-ups, as well as the braces. I don't look in the sky to find where I'm going on a map.

And yes, use the braces and anything you have left over to make some of the walling (Preferably next to blue and red base) more colorful.

I did notice you have some FR issues. That could be mostly because of the lack of structure on the map. Have you thought of decreasing the size of the map to use the extra budget to fix the FR issues as well as color issues?

Maybe even making green or purple base smaller?

You did a great job on the forging, btw- It's very cleanly forged.

    Done.

Gah! I always feel like it's so small already. I'll give it a shot, though, and see how it turns out. Maybe some total reconstruction is what needs to happen here.

EDIT: Out of curiosity, did you check this in custom games as well...? Because in forge it's more of intense screen lag as opposed to frame rate. And if you did check in custom games, might I ask where you're seeing frame rate from? (Probably from the lifts, huh?)
