Click this link for my other map: Dead Space 1, Chapter 2 (Intensive Care) Infection Remake!: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-casual-maps/123221-dead-space-chapter-2-remake.html The Gauntlet II was based off of a 4 player variant of my own creation some time ago. I decided to expand the map to 16 players and create a wider, more diverse arena for which the game could be played. The object of the game is to survive by fending off opponents while balancing on thin beams. Only one player can fit inside the hill at a time, and the hill changes through each level. There are 3 levels to the arena and all of them are accessible by man cannons that shoot you to the next level. After a number of minutes, the map will change and create stable platforms which allow for better movement and increased tension. Traps will come randomly during gameplay, so be careful (e.g. falling fusion coils, trip mines planted randomly, etc)! The idea behind this game is not only to compete and have fun with your friends, but issue a real challenge to more skilled players. Each player spawns with an Energy Sword, a Plasma Pistol, and one frag grenade. Both covenant weapons have infinite usage. Player spawning vents have been installed as a random insurgence agent to prevent spawn camping and create diversity for the players. I think this might be in mini games, I also think the platforms are too skinny and a energy sword isn't the best option due to lunging and falling so easily.
This is meant to be a competitive map, so I think it should remain here. I'm not sure, I could be wrong. But, the platforms are a decent size for walking on. I had experimented with a few other beams and I felt the size I put in was the best. Most the time you don't even have to look where you're walking. I had tested it several times with games ranging with 8-12 people and everyone said it was great. The game is a challenge - not just a KoTH variant. Also, did you download the map and try it with friends? I recommend you give it a go first.
It's not really competitive as it doesn't really fit any of the MLG or MM standards. If you are running around with swords, it's already more like Action Sack or Infection, both Casual, and Mini Games fall under casual. It does seem like it'd be a little competitive, but not like a competitive map should be. Try getting it into Casual.
