So this may be stupid I'm not sure yet. I was thinking about infection (I usually hate infection) and I had an idea to create a new survival horror gametype. Basically by mixing the ideas of infection and firefight. You would start by using the slayer gametype, 1 or 2 people would be on one team (humans) versus 5,6, or 7 on the other team(zombies). There would have to be two loadouts, one for humans the other for zombies. You would have a certain number of lives (probably 10) and try to kill all of the zombies before you run out of lives. And since you never become a zombie, it would obviously be more like firefight. And at the end of the round you switch teams around and give someone else a turn to be the humans. Obviously this will need a lot of a work trying to balance it and could need specially designed asymmetrical maps in favor of the humans of course (highground-ish perhaps). So this is where you come in. First what do you think of the idea? Would you want play a game like that? Do you have any ideas to help me refine the gametype before I even get started?
Dude, I can completely see what your getting at, but, I don't see it being any more fun for the zombies. Killing one or 2 targets over and over again isn't exactly fun, especially when the information they get from their death by you can easily stop another attack. However, this is a good game type, and one I recommend expanding and elaborating on right away. -A.D.
The biggest problem I see is that the zombie team will not necessarily like being stomped on for the whole game just to score few points. In good infection maps this is more balanced and strategic, but I feel here it might be too difficult. Think about this, do you want to be a grunt in firefight?
Obviously it would need a lot of balancing. But thats why I threw the idea out there [br][/br]Edited by merge: Also you would have to take into account the life factor. The humans are at a serious disadvantage in that respect as well. Example: if you have an 8 player game, 2 humans and 6 zombies with a 10 life limit, the humans would have to kill 60 zombies to win versus the zombies 20 kills.
