Ok, well I have invented a gametype that I think has real potential to possibly be the next griffball. It's called Rocketball. This is how it works: There is a soccer ball in the middle of a playing field. The two teams (up to 6v6) spawn at their defending goal. All player have 200% Damage Resistance. Players spawn with Rocket Launchers and Golf Clubs. Infinite Ammunition (Not bottomless) Objective is simple, get the ball into the enemies goal (like soccer) 1 point for a goal, 4 minutes per round. 4 rounds. I have made the first map for it, keeping it fairly simple. But I have encountered a problem. Getting the soccer ball to be the objective. Unfortunately, if I set the game up as "griffball" Assault, and set the label of the ball to "As_Bomb", when a game starts, a bomb will spawn next to the ball The same happens with Neutral Flag Capture the flag. What gametype could work for this situation? Stockpile? Assault? CTF? I thought I might be able to set the ball as a neutral capture point, rather than object (flag/bomb). and have the goals as the flag/bomb. Is it possible to set the soccer ball to neutral, or could I make this gametype work??? Help please!! Thanks in advance (c) should this be used, I would like credit in the description. This thread can be used as evidence.
http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-reach-forge-discussion/108414-smashball.html I think that this is the good one, I can't remember if they made a thread entirely for the thing or not.
I didn't know this had already been done lol. This looks pretty good, I shall use this system. thanks
Here's how it's done: To make this sort of gametype, you have to make a variant of Haloball. If you don't know what that is, just find it in a search in your file browser on Reach. Once you load up your map and the Haloball gametype, make a hill marker and label it BALL_SPAWN_LOC, and make the team neutral. Then, in both of the goals, make large, box-shaped hill markers that fit the goals and label them HB_GOAL, and label them by the color of the team that would score into them. If you'd like to see some celebration when you score a goal, add either neutral or colored hill markers with the label GOAL_NOISE_MAKER, and put the spawn sequence to 1. That should make a cool noise and flaming skulls pop out from the center of the hill marker. In-game, a ball should spawn at your BALL_SPAWN_LOC, and waypoints with number-of-points on them will appear over the goals. Once a goal is scored, the ball will respawn at the BSL, and you can keep playing. ...Also, check out my gametype called Rocketball.
