A jump to get to the rockets and annoying stuff getting in your way in a small room are two completely different things. Mineral got FHF which just means some people thought it looked cool anyway.
I honestly don't think my map deserves FHF, I mean I used a teleporter frame because a block 1x1 looked tacky, and I just wanted the table aesthetic. It's my first map, the game play is dirty DMRing and kind of hide and seek. I learned that I won't have powerweps on a table or anything you have to jump for. I do appreciate all the feedback though.
He was saying that Mineral got FHF and it had a complicated jump required to get the rockets therefore the any jump required to get rockets should be ok. I don't have a problem with the teleporter frame used to hold and accent the rockets; that's actually common in maps as a simple weapon holder. It's just the chair looking things around it that will get in the way and hide the plasma pistol and grenades sitting there. You should also never have weapons that close together.
If the chairs didn't block the other weapons, it might actually benefit gameplay. If people know somebody's running around with rockets, but there's another weapon in the area, it'll cause more traffic in the area.
I want to make a new version for v2 to remove the chairs, maybe have columns for pistol holders around the map, remove the table aesthetic, maybe just lower it some more. I also noticed the plasma pistols are set to fixed, I don't know who did it when I was working on the map in forge, random friends joined. It just sucks cause then everyone will have to re download it.
lol, kyle i think that the map is good, but i do agree theres a lot of weapons in the kitchen, lol. by the way i found all the ****ing health packs u put on my map last night asshole....
I didnt read the previous statements so forgive me if I repeat what others have said. This map needs a version 1.2 or 2, just to fix some issues. Primarily the table area and the initial spawning bother me. I would be happy to run through this map with you again, it is interesting and a new version could have quite a bit of potential, provided problems are fixed. I do love this map though, you clearly know what you are doing. This is miles better than my first map. That one is so broken, but this, this is great.
I made a v2 I probably won't put it on my fileshare, Zzonked isn't THAT popular, I pushed in the chairs, swapped the rocket launcher with a grenade launcher. I also made 2 columns on each base area, one column holds a sticky, the other a pistol. Stating that I did remove the pistols and stickies from the table area. I think this map got FHF only because of being singled out cause of the tie, but it's cool I got it Thanks to the Forge Hub community.
I think the only problem with the table would be that you have to reveal yourself on radar by jumping. But I'm reading now that you dont have to jump to pick up the rl. So it works for me. Dunno if it matters to you but it bothers me when some parts of the map aren't in the screenshots. I couldn't really orient myself from the pics. Guess I'll have to download and check it out. Good first map. Looking forward to your next projects.
Crouching with rockets is a sure kill. Just like it is with shotgun and sword. Too many times I've fired only one rocket before dying. I don't like to be over confident with rockets because I hate the thought of giving up a loaded rl. It can be the cause of your next three deaths. Especially on a small map like zzonked
I might put Zzzonkedv2 in my fileshare, I listed the changes in a previous post, this map is about staying on the edges, it's fun when that one person tries to go for rockets because everyone is ready with a DMR. But, I have cover in the dining room area, to have a chance of escaping.
I should have never created this map, it's fun for friends and stuff, it doesn't even deserve to be on my fileshare, that's honestly what I think. Just issues with a phased weapon, and people bitching about rockets and stickies being so close together, I made a v2 but if I upload it it will maybe only get not more than 5 downloads, kind of pointless. Everything checked out; Good height variation, plenty of paths, and good amounts of cover. I like that you removed the pistols, rockets, and plasmas in the newer version and replaced them with a grenade launcher. I still don't like that you have to jump to get to it though. I have yet to play a game on it, but it's Q'ed for a playtest.
The beauty about looking back on these posts retrospectively is getting the opportunity to view them without the context of the passage of time.
