What do you think of Forge Wars? If you do not know what Forge Wars is, it is when you get a bunch of friends together in a forge game and everyone builds their own base. then they fight to the death! This particular way of playing usually ends in broken friendships, destroyed forge structures and grid spawnkilling. For me, Forge Wars is a stupid thing. You can do the same in custom games and co-operatively make a map in forge with friends. Doing it this way gives you pride and a sense that what you have made will not result in a broken mess. But what do you think?
It gets boring really quickly. Everyone steals stuff and hides things. Then whenever you all want to play no one is ever finished. When you finally do play it ends up being a camp fest with sniper rifles and instant spawning active camo and overshields. Grid killing is noobish. 5x5s are pro.
I do this on split screen with my bro and some others. Since they don't know we're on splitscreen, they don't don't know how I can see their base in the canyon when I'm building mine in the coliseum. That's when I attack with my banshee, and if i need to go back, I spawn a teleporter, then Gauss hog. Also, I only do it because most of my Halo friends suck at forging.
Whenever I do this with my friends it usually goes as follows: 1. We make oversized bases with every weapon and vehicle layed out in one area. 2. We shoot each other for a bit. 3. We all spawn killballs and try to ram each other with them until we get bored.
Reasons this can't work: 1. Immaturity 2. Delete all 3. To make a map play well it needs time and effort put into it, not 10 minutes of spam building. I would agree wholeheartedly with your description, though it could be fun if honor rules were followed exactly and people had a limited piece count, building area, and about an hour to build first. It would be more of a forge off then and less crap-in-a-blender style screwing around.
I did this once... it turned into one guy spinning a grid whilst we all enabled glitched armour lock and had mid-air, pointless, bouncing, punch-offs. And rockets. And flying debris. And killballs...
