MUSEUM OF HUMANITY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-AuAccnjuw Download Map: Museum of Humanity This map has been a long time in the making. Originally it was built to be a slayer map housing one or two dioramas but from there the project grew. I continued to come up with ideas for new details to add and decided to create a "museum" to house the various dioramas and aesthetics. Inspiration came from the Halo 3 ad "Monument of a Hero" which shows a miniature battlefield built to honor Master Chief. Above is a video I made using the audio from that commercial combined with shots of the map. All credit for the audio and opening quote go to the makers of the commercial. This is the main diorama. On the left hand side are the majority of the covenant troops including two scarabs. Vehicles can be seen on the ground as well as several cruisers in the distance. There are also some shields present as seen in the campaign mission in Halo Reach. On the right is the human airfield base. Fighters hang in the sky above and anti-aircraft guns point towards the incoming covenant force. In another part of the museum, various UNSC warthogs are on display. A full scale anti-aircraft gun has also been created in the back of the museum flanked by rows of weapons. The next diorama is a peaceful scene of a city. Train tracks cover the spawrling, grassy hills. One of the trains can be seen travelling along the railway. A closer shot of the tracks. Here you can see an overpass allowing travel over the two other tracks below. A train emerges from the tunnel on the left. The third main diorama portrays the battle which took place in New Mombasa. Covenant ships fire upon the city in the background. A cinematic view with the slipspace rupture appearing in the middle of the city. There is also a bathroom in one of the side passages of the museum. It includes sinks, urinals, and a row of toilet stalls. Below is a brief walkthrough of the map: YouTube - Halo Reach Map: Museum of Humanity Download Map: Museum of Humanity
I remember this map's humble beginnings, and it's come a long way since then. Its completely original, and its definitely something no one has ever done before. I really enjoyed looking in each exhibit, and I found myself saying over and over again "how did he do that". It almost reminds me of the last level for MW2 when when you get to go to the various rooms to see what they contain. This map is a must see when it comes down aesthetic showcasing.
very nice map, a lot of detail was put into this, and a lot of thinking too. in my opinion, the outdoor battlefield diorama looks the best, except for the turrets/anti-air guns. i think you should replace those. anyway, very exquisite, practically no problems, original idea, 10/10. =)
Yes indeed. This is very original. I am very impressed. I love the idea of dioramas. And the way you created the appearance of the "ship" flying is great. Also the story line to go along with the map is great. Truly a great forge. Job well done. Ill dl.
I cannot belive what I am seeing, GREAT JOB MAN!!! The mini cities are a great Idea, and with the lazers, this is amazing. I really gotta dl this to see its max potential
Great job on this amazing museum piece! The detail to the actual dioramas are great, I really like how you added the ships to the background of the pieces. The dioramas are great but I really like the vehicle exhibits as well, those pieces really give it that museum feel whereas if it had just been the dioramas it wouldn't have been as good. Overall great job DL and Liked.
Hey man, you're HD Oakley on XBL right? Well, Zeus was shwoing me this map yesterday, and I was really impressed. This must've taken a while and congrats on being able to do this. This should be featured for just being so creative. Anyways, Zeus was saying not to fly out into the exhibits as a monitor because they won't look as good. I can certainly tell you that he was wrong. Even when you're flying around these different areas you feel as though you actually are in the place...but mini haha. Overl great map.
This map is so beautiful, you should really tr to add zombies to this. I would love to see a new environment in your classical zombie maps. Anyways great and perfect, no details are left out and good job for that!
Incredible idea. Completely original and looks beautiful. The video is pro as hell too I love it and can't wait to check it out myself. Definate download and like from me.
Had a look around, and I absolutely LOVED it. The pieces are all so well crafted, and the attention to detail is astonishing. Those Scarabs made of guns are adorable. <3 You've stumbled onto something you have an incredible talent for here. Keep up the good work.
Well, I have to say, this is extremely creative and I loved almost every aspect of it. Although, I couldn't quite tell what most of the little figures were. I could tell about the scarabs, but pretty much everything else was un-recognizable. On a good note, I loved the train station, bravo. Also, the AA gun was perfectly forged. All round' I loved the creativity in this artwork.
you sir are a great forger, normally when i see memorials or maps of the such i usually see just one thing and that's it but this map goes into great detail with the greatest of battles that humanity has been in, especially the bathroom memorial lol, jk, but seriously you deserve to be recognized for your work.
I'm normally a stiff guy, but this? This pulled, no, yanked me back into the Halo Universe. This map, while impressive, is not great because of what is in it. It is because of what it represents. DL, Liked, and played constantly when nobody is online. I felt as if something was missing from this, and I realized something: it was my enthusiasm. I'm playing Halo exclusively for a long time to come. Good work. The vid almost made me cry, I got so sucked into it.
I'm not sure if I'm bumping, but this is amazing. My favorite part of all this was how you used the tin cup flags as if it was a light coming down from the ship. The effect that the light travels through the tin cup pole makes it even more amazing. Just amazing map in general, you are one of my favorite forgers, everything you do is so original.
Very inventive and great execution. You should make a Forge tutorial on miniature stuff like this, it's awesome.
That's incredible, especially the use of weapons for some of the smaller things. My favorite part is definitely the scarabs because they just fit so well.
