Have you ever been sitting in a game of firefight and look around at the map and think, "This would make one kickass multiplayer map."? Well thats where Installation 07 was born. This is pretty much a remade version of the new firefight map Installation 04. Yes I am very original when it comes to names. The basic layout is two semi-symetrical bases with a beautiful forerunner structure taking up the middle. The main structures of the map are complete, but I have yet to finish the weapons, spawns and objectives. Here are few more pics of the main points on the map. Overview of middle Blue base Red base Like I said I have yet to finish spawning and weapons and such. If you would like to help or just want to look around just message me. I am hoping to begin testing by Friday. Other than that leave me with what you think. -xDTx Kaos-
Holy crap this looks really awesome. I love how much effort you put you into that spire to make it look almost like an exact replica of the one from that new firefight map. I also love that broken tunnel/bridge/thing thingy off the edge of the cliff. I would say invite me for testing but I am hardly ever online anymore. In fact, depending on when you want it released, I can make a video for it if you want? Just pm me if you do.
I have been trying to make a map like this for absolutely ages. Maximum kudos for getting one set up. However, my only concern is what prevented me from succeeding every time.... framerate lag. With the central building using so many pieces, does it cause framerate issues? I also can't really tell.. but can you go inside the central structure? I can also see similarities from Halo 2's Relic, and Halo:CEs campaign mission "Halo" As I don't have CEA, I'd imagine the Installation 04 is just the Halo mission remade?
Installation 04 is the final area of the mission "Halo". And I have also thought about doing this. The thing that has prevented me from even attempting is the fact that I'd want to implement the underground tunnels.. Though the map isn't totally accurate, it still resembled it well. Looks pretty solid.
Well, I will be a rabbit with a dildo (Sorry, I'm from Texas), this is amazing, way to bring back some of Bungie's greatest creations. I like how the structure look like the one in the new firefight map, nicely done.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes I have been keeping framerate in mind. To my own surprise I have not yet seen any. But then again the map is not complete. To answer your question Stevo, there is a stairwell in the middle of the structure as with the firefight map. To fit the structure where I wanted it, I built it around a tree, which in itself was kind of awkard. But with a little luck it turned out beautifully. Another firefight map I've wanted to make for multiplayer is Holdout, but there is just no spot for it in forgeworld. Cryppy, a video would be amazing. I know little of computers and it took me almost 10 minutes just to figure out how to edit my pics in Photobucket. Thanks again for the comments and compliments.
Dude, this is awesome. If you can get me a loose schedule, I can help test, it just has to be after 3 p.m. I hate high school for such restictions.
*Cries tears of joy* I loved Installation 04! Did you include the glitch where you can drive the Warthog out of the map? Even if you didn't, this is still amazing. I must play this. Soon.
Purely epic I have never tried this but I have built some truly epic forerunner structures such as the epic bases from Valhalla after looking at over 20 Valhalla remakes I'm certain I have the best base designs. But I really do like this map nice job
