Um. So yea. I'll edit some blurb in here later. Downrush (2-4 players) A redesign of Downrush which was a map made by Pwnytar and sicfish in Halo CE that was a redesign/adaptation of Aerowalk from Quake. Courtyard (4-8 players) An original map that spawned from a simple concept from a small glimpse of a map in a random PC FPS vid. My first MLG 4v4 map designed post-TU. Emphasis is on KotH. Tao (2 players) Original map that borrows the concept from some Quake map of having a drop down to a powerup/weapon that then feeds into a main atrium.
Tao sounds like a Japanese meal. They look pretty good. I am not a fan of the bridge in downrush but other than that, pretty darn good my friend.
As always, these look ****ing sweet. I'm especially loving the look of Courtyard, except the name kinda blows. Would love to get some games on these sometime.
I want to play theseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Especially Downrush . Also, Tao and Courtyard look awesome. Tao moreso than Courtyard, but still, both look fantastic. Can't wait.
You were right in the sense that Tao is an Asian term haha. Taoism/Daoism is an Asian philosophy that originates in China that encourages people to be one with "the Way". Dao/Tao on it's own is "the Way". /lesson Yea, the bridge is kind of wonky with the Dishes but trying to replicate the bridge from the OG Downrush is impossible with the forge pallet, so I tried to settle from something similar. The top of the Bridge is a lot cooler, trust me And thanks for the kind words. Thanks mayne <3 That ****-around session the other night was hella fun. Yea the Courtyard name is pretty bland and overused. Willing to take suggestions if anyone has any. Hahaha. Remember when I told you it was a ***** to forge? Holy hell. I seriously spent at least 40-50 hours building the first build, raged, then restarted, and finished a scaled-down version in an hour. Never been so stressed while forging before. And thanks broheimio. Ehhhhh. Too cliche. I'll come up with something, but thanks for the suggestion!
Is Tao still like four rooms in a line or has it changed much? I think I saw it a while back and I didn't really like it that much. I can't remember exactly what it was like though. You'll have to invite me sometime, or upload these to your FS. Hit me up if you want to test. The rest of these maps looks really good. I've got to see them in game sometime.
Such purty maps. I'm looking forward to Tao the most, it looks very clean and colorful. Also, I noticed you color your objects by team rather than the actual object themselves. I'm not 100% sure, but won't the color not show up if you don't color the object themselves? Anyways, I'd love to get some games on these- They look fantastic. Keep up the good work.
Seen them all... suck. Polish for worst forger of 2011 ;] I suggest releasing this before Waldo and I's map pack or else no one will download these crappy maps :]
These look wonderful, I'm very interested in tao as a design, while im not a huge fan of 1 vs 1 they definately turn out pretty amazing as a concept when in the right hands. And perhaps, Havoc for the name? It would fit pretty well into the environment you have created from the pictures, looks like a pretty hectic urban styled map with plenty of height variation and room to room combat. Love your forging style and I wish I was this talented at smaller maps .
I like the way the maps look but if I was to make a map pack ( which I am) I would not put a 1v1 map on it that is just my opinion
