Extraction [v1.4]- *Extraction has been removed from my file share in order to make room for new content. Just comment or send me a message if you'd like to DL* Last week I was able to put some time into fixing a lot of the problems people were having with Extraction. So I spent a good amount of time at work: adding cover, adjusting height variations of the map (to provide more cover in certain areas), and reducing LoSs by restricting player visibility. Hope you enjoy... Extraction is a mid-sized competitive multiplayer map designed for all game types: Team Slayer, KotH, CTF, Assault and Head-Hunter. The map is well suited for 2v2 (up to 4v4) game types. Weapons on Map: 1x Sniper Rifle [1 spare clip/120sec] 1x Shotgun [1 spare clip/90sec] 1x Grenade Launcher [2 spare clips/120sec] 2x DMR [1 spare clip/45 sec] 2x Needler Rifles [1 spare clip/45sec] 2x Plasma Pistol [45sec] 2x Frag Grenades [35sec] 1x Plasma Grenade [45sec] Armor Abilities: 1x Armor Lock [90sec] "Top-Mid overlooking Red Base" While the middle of the map gives players higher ground (No longer the highest point on the map) it also leaves them exposed from all angles. The windows on either side allow for limited yet efficient cross-map-fire. "The "The 'Breeze-Way' helps to open up the map and mix up the gameplay" My desire was to create a map that seamlessly blends close and mid-range gameplay. The windows (shown in the top left) give players cross-map views. "Center piece adds cover and reduces LoSs" The "Ally-way" can be seen to the right below the sniper rifle. After more playtesting I decided it best to remove the man-cannon in exchange for more cover. The center piece provides cover for players on the lower level while also providing quick access to higher ground/top-mid (It also serves to reduce player visibility and LoSs). "Although, the 'Alleyway' (located below the sniper rifle) gives players a concealed route across the map, lack of cover forces players into intense 1v1, kill or be killed firefights" [You can compare the two versions of Extraction by looking at the Original Post.] Thanks to everyone who left feedback and gave advice on how to improve the map! Even though the changes were somewhat subtle, it's really changed the dynamics of the map. Great work, and I'll download this one as well.

Thanks man! I spent a lot of time trying to find a way to keep some the longer distance line-of-sights intact while cutting off LoSs that were giving people so much grief! Glad that you like it! It's always nice to hear that someone enjoys something that you've worked long and hard on! ...More comments would be nice...I really would like to know what more people think of the map. What aspects do people like? and what should improvements should be made for future versions?
