I uploaded a video on youtube showing how to get unlimited vehicles. I'm not really motivated to write up anything here so if you want to find out how, just watch the video. "Unlimited Vehicles" [HD] - Forge Tips & Tricks (THFE) - YouTube Have fun.
I don't have the capacity to watch video at the moment (or more accurately, I lack an appropriate audio output), but I recently came across something similar by accident while fiddling with the gametype settings while playtesting a new map. The map was loaded with vehicles as it was, most of which simply fell down onto the playing field and exploded to create debris and hazards. The gametype was a HaloBall variant, which I suspect played a role in the final result; some of the falling vehicles were mongooses which were tagged as the "Halo_Ball". There were also numerous spawn locations for golf balls on the map (50, I think). I'm not sure if everything falling through a big hole in the middle of the map (and into a kill zone to despawn them) played a role as well. Anyhow, the key settings were under "Weapons & Vehicles": - "Indestructible Vehicles" was disabled (stopping any sort of "spawn cap" from happening). - "Vehicles Set" was changed to "Warthogs" So yes, I had an infinite rain of exploding warthogs. The map lagged so bad that the frame rate must've dropped into single digits (per second), but it also had the funny side-effect of creating the biggest single explosion I've ever seen in Reach (somehow a stack of 17 warthogs detonated all at once, which then spread to a bunch of actual explosives and several other warthogs); it probably would've filled the entire "hangar" section of Forge World (the bit where you spawn on a blank map), and actually froze the game for a couple seconds. Yeah... I almost broke Reach. Funny stories aside, it would seem you've managed to harness this glitch into a more usuable state (one which doesn't cause the game to lag to a practically unplayable state). I suspect the glitch you're using isn't too different than the one I found, if it isn't the same one outright. Still, I guess my little side story there is a bit of a warning. Be careful while using this glitch; if overdone, it's liable to cause an unprecedented amount of lag. Not the "mild annoyance" sort of lag either, to the level of "unplayable".
This is really great! now youve enebled me to have respawning on FWOT, and its unmodded, so I can post it on Forgehub! Thank you so much, Darth, but PLEASE dont pass off btb tank on tank as your idea... Because you are a better (and more well known) forger, people will think I copied YOU. So yeah. Also, would it be possible for you to run a feature on FWOT on your channal? Plz PM me about it. THANKS AGAIN!
Thank you, had to try and filled the coliuseum with tanks and vehicals, I am going to see if this will work with other objects wepons etc. Maybe make a terminator map full of lag and debris. The video was also very helpful in ideas to use this find...not like me to watch such a long video, but it was well worth watching. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Also the same principle works with weapons, e.g. place 2 snipers on fixed then change to normal and min count of 2 then change gametype to covenant weapons only and they change to focus rifle and an unlimited supply. Spawning too many vehicals can cause a Minute or so delay of black screen...
Any tips on how to minimize the massive spazzing-out that occurs when a non-host player goes through the teleporter? Tutui and I were easily able to re-create the mechanism, but he kept randomly flying off into space half the time when we tested it. Do the teleporter exits need to be a certain distance away from any other objects in order for it to work properly?
Yes, I explain how the video. I said the teleporter rooms need to be above the map (watch 7:16). It doesn't lag, I show gameplay footage in the video (watch 18:29).
Yes, I'm aware, we have them far above the map. The spawn rooms are up in the quarry and the map is way down on the opposite side of the island, but we still have massive flipping issues.
This is a very useful glitch and has many uses. The tank map for example is brilliant and it also allows for an accurate remake of cat and mouse. Love to see what other people can make of this. Be warned though. I heard from someone that making a machine that makes unlimited, turretless wraiths is very very tricky to pull off. Besides that one thing I would recommend that people run with the idea in any direction. Good luck
thanks to this video i am able to make many great maps for instance my gametype and map heavy rain which is a large chasm with killballs underneath it you have swords and the only way across are three thin walkways the catch is there are vechiles falling from the sky in the human game type there is mongees falling and the elite gametype there are ghosts the only reason this was sucsessfull was because of this thanks darth
Glad this was bumped otherwise I would of missed it, Just one thing as the spawning machine thing using a spawn area in these situations(spawn area's minigame spawns where you need forced team spawns) i find it better to not use a spawn areas and just change the spawn points to red team(like the initial spawn point) that way it's a 100% guarantee red team is the only team that will spawn there ever and it saves one object if your pressed for objects. I haven't tested it yet but i assume you can change the settings to other things "warthogs only" for specific settings which is handy. Good find.
