Hmm... Wonder if I should get myself completely banned and post info about the maps as I play them...
Because Halo4Follower copies everyone else's videos and content, with no consideration for accuracy or completeness. This video must've been made before the guy who was uploading the full videos actually finished uploading them! Here's High Noon, there are the other maps on previous pages and on the guys YouTube page.
The canvas's seem a bit disappointing. Can't delete most of the hang em high map, not that many new pieces to forge with either. Can be compared to tempest its canvas, smaller then forge world, same pieces.
*begins the proverbial "I didn't want to tell you told ya so" then realizes of course I want to say that* This result is why I seemed fairly dismissive about the added forge capabilities a few months ago was because if I put more hype into it then what is reasonable to assume of a game that's purpose was to relive the Halo CE campaign in brilliant HD and nothing else would have led to more disappoint toward something that doesn't deserve that disappointment. I'm sure Halo 4 will have whatever new forge mechanics people have been asking for. The fact that the Anniversary maps have at least Tempest level forge palettes is pretty awesome I think.
It's better than having no structures, I think all the maps in CEA (besides Dammy) have most forgeworld pieces. I know some map have blocks that don't go past 3x3 flats, but it's a helluva lot better than nothing. I feel like the FW pieces will be super awkward on breakneck, But they look like they can do a lot on Solitary and High Noon. Personally, I wont be spending much time on High Noon, because Solitary just screams make a 2v2 at me, and I think that I could do a lot to Beaver Creek (or whatever it is now).
Why is High Noon the only map that kept the Brace, Large? So far, the two best maps for forging seem to be High Noon and Ridgeline. Making canvases is a ***** though.
High Noon has 5k budget, correct? It also has all those lovely new textures... Also: decorative are 50 bucks, you get 100..... meaning that decorative by itself would use all of your budget.
Actually, the FW palette carried over breaks cohesion with the surroundings of the canvas. They are pretty useless. The few pieces that match show that they understood this and they decided to add the FW blocks anyway. Edited by merge: While I am a bit disappointed as well, the skill I think is to take what is there and make it work. I heard people complain about the hologram being in their way, but if it has to be visible in their map then they should make it work as part of their map.
They should include all the objects for people to use in forge. They should patch it so that there are more available objects for people to use, like Forerunner structures. I wish we didn't have to use certain maps to get certain pieces. I think Halo:CEA has brought some community back, but it might just be temporary because it was a big game this season, along with MW3. Allowing players to have more variety in forge will only bring more community members. There's so many amazing creations, allowing just a few more pieces in all levels will make the possibilities so much more vast. Ugh, I digress.
Unless they were to release a very, VERY large patch, they can't simply add items to the map, it doesn't work that way. I'm sure if they could they would, but they can't. They can only make future maps have more items.
