There are very few ways of screwing up this song.. and you managed to.

No, just kidding, I'm not an arsehole. I like it, it's a nice change and I think you pulled it off pretty well. The sound isn't exactly HD but it does its job.

The fast-paced-ness isn't very enjoyable since the original is much slower, but that's just a bias. Overall, nice video and song. Good job sir

Work a bit on your high notes... it almost sounds like you're whispering at times; it may be a relatively quite song, but still. Very good arrangements, though... work on getting the sound to be a bit more crisp and you've got a winner!

And is this a cover of the Tears for Fears ORIGINAL, GOOD, NOT ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE song Mad World or the POS cover by Michael Andrews?

I loved this song in its pure form, and I feel like you did quite a brilliant job with the increased tempo and just the vocals in general, but the guitar feels distorted and low quality. In fact, I hate the way the guitar soundset carries it altogether.

This is just one of those songs that simply must be played on a piano.

Thanks a ton for the feedback guys, I'm currently working on getting some actual good recording stuff haha. This was kinda an experiment with the song, i was attempting at giving it sorta modern rock feel with elements from both the gary jules and tears for fears versions of the songs. @ Xtermin8R645 thanks for critiquing the vocals, I usually do songs in a lower key because i have a deeper voice, and i wanted to try and branch out, i defiantly need to work on that more.

Ok, good. It definitely sounded like you integrated the sound of the original song, props for that. And I think that if you have a deep voice then don't change it... the singer in TfF had a really, really deep voice, maybe you should remake this sometime. And I side with flamingo, the distortion is too high. Get it just a bit cleaner, (maybe even some reverb if you got a pedal) and experiment a bit.

Ok i think i will, part of the guitar problem i think is that i ran it straight into my computer instead of going through my amp, and then i added the affects after recording, which gave it a much lower quality of sound.

It's brave, but, to be frank, I'm not sure the angle you're going for works with the song itself. I understand that it's more a cover of the TFF version rather than Gary Jules, but I didn't like the out of tune guitar sound you had, I'm not entirely sure about the grunge-y garage tone, and at times it sounded a little too busy and out of time. I know it can be hard to stay in time without any proper beat to go with, but it's just something that niggled at me the whole time I was listening to it.

The vocals were the best part of it; I liked the microphone effect you had on it, kinda sounded like it was at a karaoke bar or something. But definitely work on cleaning up the guitars and making it sound less cluttered. It could be great, but at the moment I'm not really feeling it, sorry.
