This week has seen a flurry of activity involving Infection maps, and with it the discovery that the load out cameras used by Infection at the start of each round are inconsistent. I have added this latest bug to the list of Known Bugs With The Spawn Engine, along with information on how to work around it and how to avoid camera conflicts with other game types.
Bug? I always considered it a feature, using it to present multiple different views of the map to be chosen from seemingly at random by the game engine. EDIT: In fact, the use of red and blue only at the start and neutral thereafter seems deliberate. Use Red and Blue cameras to present the most critical things you'd want people to see just prior to going into the map for the first time -- most particularly the two teams' own spawn hives, so that players can think about where they want to go before the round starts. Use Neutral cameras for things that are less critical but maybe still helpful (i.e. showing off subtle flank routes).
Ya, I know that... I was just messing with you. I added it because I wanted to put it into a list of known bugs. Some people may not know about it, so being in that list may be good for them. Also, if you know of any others, let me know. I will confirm them and then add them to the list.
Useful to know, I often add neutral cameras specifically for infection gametype, but a good point that they should be set up for red and blue as spawns. Will add it in future.
