Lost Hope. Lost Hope is a fast-paced arena-type map meant for 2-5 people. Even at 5 people, that map gets crowded. There's a dome in the middle, with a Camo at the bottom send to respawn every 90 seconds and some fusion coils. Getting stuck down there REALLY isn't a good idea. There are also two small tunnels on opposite sides of the map, one with a Shotgun and another with a sword. Along one side of the map there's a Battle Rifle and a Sniper Rifle. Because of the map's size, the Sniper Rifle is pretty under-powered. Unless you're across the map, of course. There's also a small tunnel with a Carbine inside of it. Lost Hope supports Slayer, King of the Hill and Oddball. Weapons on the map: Two SMGs, 2 Rounds, 30 second respawn. Two Spikers, 2 Rounds, 30 second respawn. Two Plasma Rifles, 2 Rounds, 30 second respawn. One Sniper Rifle, 2 Rounds, 30 second respawn. One Battle Rifle, 2 Rounds, 30 second respawn. One Shotgun, 2 Rounds, 60 second respawn. One Sword, N/A Rounds, 90 second respawn. One Carbine, 2 Rounds, 60 second respawn. One Regenerator, 30 second respawn. Four Plasma Grenades, 10 second respawn. Two Frag Grenades, 10 second respawn. One Active Camo, 90 second respawn.
looks like u have some interesting designs there but i dislike the seeming lack of thought to asthetics in the coil place ment(looks like u threw them down in 5 secs) and the use of shotty/swords on a small map
The Fusion Coils were actually placed at strategic points to prevent camping. :/ And the map's open enough so that you can kill someone that has either of them before they get to you. EDIT: If you're judging the Fusion Coils by the screenshots, they moved because someone was shooting them in an attempt to kill me with them.
ah ok. In that case looks like a pretty good map I guess I'll take ur word for it on the shotty/sword thing.
Nice interlocking n' stuff. I do like the idea of the grav lift pit in the middle, especially because you actually took the time to place the gravlifts instead of throwing them down there haphazardly. One suggestion: take the Camo out of the bottom and put it where the shotty was, move the drainer, delete the shotty, and put a hammer at the bottom of the pit instead. Also you should prolly replace the sword with a mauler. Alright maybe that was 4 suggestions, but... Well constructed: 8/10
Thanks. I was thinking of replacing the Sword with a Mauler after Cato IV's post about the Sword/Shotgun thing. I'll take all suggestions into consideration for a version 2 of the map.
This actually looks pretty good, I actually thought I looked pretty well put together. It's not really a competive map though, and it being posted in the competitive section may have been why it wasn't getting very good feedback. You do need to add a more detailed description to your post though. Also, you could probably improve the map by fixing up the weapon setup, adding a little more cover, fixing the spawns up a bit, and using more interlocking and other techniques to make it look a lot neater.
Gravedigger, aren't you apart of Halo 3 Forgery? Might be someone else. But I wasn't sure what was defined as Casual and Competitive: I figured it was the gameplay. >_>
