Yes, this is literally Cinderellas Castle. Is it how whoever the artist who designed it intended for it to look? I have no idea, but it's the best I could do at the time. It actually wasn't my idea, and was the 3rd map I've created. Also, it was for a competition (kind of like the 2v2 throwdown) and I only had a week to forge it in (probably more than enough time for most of you) so it was a rush job at that! But here it is, I thought I'd share it with you. I did however do some work on it today before I released it on here. You know, to save some shame of it not playing correctly in 3 plots by having two #3 flags! Or the man cannons not doing their job to get you to specific locations making you look like a fool when trying to get up that tower!...haha, like I said, rush job. But now that that competition is over (months ago!) I decided to revisit one of my maps and put the attention into it deserves. Weapons list: Magnum x2, Assault Rifle x2, Rocket x1, Shotgun x2, Sniper x1, Needler Rifle x2, DMR x2 Plasma Pistol x2, Plasma Repeater x, Needler x1, Sword x1, Hammer X1, HMG x2, Grenade Launcher x2, Concusion Rifle x2, Spiker x2 Alright, lets get an over lay of this recreation of Disney. This is the front view of the art project. On the center of the walkway is a concusion rifle. A view from the rear. =] I know exactly how it sounds....Ran out of money (and didnt want to restart) other wise it would look more like a draw bridge (and have a moat in a different location) Center of the walkway is a concusion rifle. This is blue side for team/objective gameplay. Spiral staircase goes all the way down! Red side is identical minus the height due to uneven ground. Archway teleporter, for easy access back up. Blue side telporter. Also you'll see the difference in height for red side if you notice the crates. This is also the lower area on blue side (not the entire side due to structures...its hard to get a good snapshot). Red side teleporter. Here you can see the difference in height mentioned before. Over lay front. From here you can see multiple towers. The 2 front most towers have man cannons that send you up then to collect flags for stockpile as well as hold an energy sword or gravity hammer depending on which you climb. Top floor of the center tower is where the sniper rifle is located. There are several ways to reach this, so it's not a linear climb to the top. Every location is spaced so that each tower/building/platform or whatever it is you feel like doing some parkour on is reachable with at least the use of sprint. Jet packs are a plus for the climb, but the assistance of jumping/man cannons/teleporters should keep it from being like the lines at Disney Land. Over lay left. This is taken from Blue side to give you a better view of what to expect while climbing those fun towers. (it's more that central tower). In the back is an upper bridge connecting to red side. Center of the bridge is Rockets. On the same level as the landing pad is where the teleporters (red/blue) take you. The floor above is sniper while 2 floors below is a shotgun. Over lay back. From here you get a better view of where the rockets are and a better idea of the tower paths. You also notice (if you haven't before) tthat the map isn't symmetrical. Over lay right. Taken from red side. You can see where the neutral teleporter takes you to in one of the windows. Well, I hope for some constructive criticism as usual. Also, I've never actually played on this map, so for those of you who do give it a DL, please let me know how it plays. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it! Almost forgot! When playing infection it supports 16 players. And in team, it's only RvB unfortunately. Maybe I'll change that depending on reveiws.
Hey again, wow, thems are some bloody aesthetics there, nice job, looks really nice, ammount of power weapons seems a bit over the top, usually you have three, maybe four at most on a map, you have 10. Apart from that, it all looks pretty solid, seems like the Jetpack might be the ruling AA on this map but with the man cannons, tele porters, grenade launchers and sniper on this map, it shouldn't be too much of a problem, apart from that, good job as a whole, keep it up.
Nice job on this map, great aesthetics, and it looks like a fairytale castle, really impressive the amount of gametypes on this and it really has an interesting layout. Difficult combining aethetics with competitive, but you seem to have nailed it... Looking forward to playing some customs on this later. Dl + like from me
Thank you and I actually didn't realize that when I was making the map! But now that you mention it, they are all out of the way. You have to work to reach each of them. For example, the concusion rifles being underneath, you have to find a way back up. The Grenade launchers are only obtainable by dropping or jetpacking. Rocket is a climb and a little out of the way. You'll notice anyone who's going for the Sword/Hammer and they are vulnerable on the way to getting these. Shotguns are both convenient and not to reach. Well, depending on where you're headed. And the sniper is all the way at the top. (well, not the top, but the to of the central tower) Anyway, I think they make for interesting gameplay. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Thank you. It was amazingly difficult. I can't even think of how many times I just wanted to scrap this map during the skeleton stages of this map. But once I got it the competitive part kinda filled itself in. The gametypes are a recent addition. It used to host just CTF and simple games like that. It also wasn't that appealing before I updated it. Well, in some areas anyway.
