DUNES Here is my first map, Dunes. DOWNLOAD Author: sugaballa99 Supported Game types: Everything except Infection, VIP, juggernaut. This map is very high paced and makes for good slayer and capture the flag. In the map each team starts at one base with 2 dunes in front, these dunes are slanted and you can walk up them. In between there is alot of cover with a few secret spots thrown in ( near the wall. ) KoTH and Capture the Flag are intense gametypes for this map as it is always high paced and the game doesn't end quickly. When i was testing it, there was to many open spaces, so i added many scenery for cover. Creator: Sugaballa99 ( small action shot? ) Base 1 Base 2 ( i ran out of money and items, dont bombard me haha ) ( it has alot of ways to get in once you get there to make up for it ) Dune1 Dune 2 Thanks to my brother for helping me alot, i used photobucket if you guys think there are problems with the pictures. Hope i made a good post.
The title gives the illusion of it being on Sandtrap, but still it's different and new. A little tidying up here and there would do it good.
Hmm pretty cool idea. It does look like you know how to interlock but you kinda rushed things. The comments above mentioned sloppy but I understand that doesn't help you make a better map. Making hills at angles it very tough. The concept of creating a circle with flat shapes never really comes out totally right. The issue is that most people like to see smooth edges when walking. So for instance in in the picture you named dune 2... the hill you made looks decent but the top of the hill has a little edge above the flat spot. It looks like you layed the bridges on the box or whatever it is and locked them in (which is a great start). The next step is to raise the flat box up a bit to merge smoothly with the hill you created around it. This comment is all from little pictures so I can't really say its good or bad. I'll download this week and come back and rate but good start!
thanks, i know its sloppy, but it really is hard to interlock floating objects, and without the money glitch and everything i did have trouble. I ended with 0 money
It looks ok. There are areas I can see that are sloppy so you might want to take that into consideration.
those dunes make my toesies hurt.. =// i would reccomend doing a v2 cause this concept is nice but could be smoother =]
people, come on. this looks like a really neat idea. and i don't mean to sound like i know what your intentions with the map were, but from the look and name it sounds like it's supposed to be sloppy-ish. looks pretty cool nice ideas but i think they would be better if utilized in a more complex map rather than just the dune things in each corner. good job, good idea.
was it hard for you to make interlocking look bad caise that would be pretty hard to do. But I think it was a accomplishment
For a first map its pretty good. The idea is amazing and i would really like to see a version 2 with a little cleaning up here and there and aligning stuff.I would say 6/10 because of the little sloppiness ,but in retrospect the Idea is really good.
The idea is amazing, but it looks like you tried too hard, and so it didn't come out as nicely as it could.
Now I know how people often don't like vehicles in foundry maps, but I think this would be a great map for a warthog/ghost/choppa. The middle of the map looks too open for a regular on-foot map, and the idea of having dunes is that it's supposed to be like a desert or beach or something, so having boxes and walls in the middle would detract from the general feel. As for where you're gonna find the money to put vehicles in...I dunno. Not a bad map though: 7/10
yea, this looks really sloppy, i think that you have a great idea going, but i think that you need to clean it up and expand on what youve thought up
1/5Like most here have said the interlocking looks very sloppy, the idea is not too bad but you didn't pull it off very well. You need to make sure when interlocking objects they are lined up well, the objects interlocked in these images are definitely not lined up. The main two examples are the bridges and the fences walls, they are way out of wack. Simply put it's just not something you want to play on when you see it. If you go to the featured section and look at the pictures of the interlocking in those maps you will see everything is lined up... Line up your map and you'll get more downloads.
