Map Name: Westfield Plaza Westfield Plaza is a symmetrical arena-style map set in the grassy area above the coliseum. The central area is an industrial plaza or courtyard shared evenly by both teams. It features the two power weapons on the map, the energy sword and a grenade launcher. The grenade launcher rests on the central bridge that connects both bases and the energy sword lies in the back of the courtyard (both are pictured below). The courtyard provides the quickest route between bases, but is also the most exposed area to traverse. The bases reflect each other on opposite sides of the central courtyard. In each base there are four rooms- two on ground level and two above- a grassy courtyard and a balcony spanning the courtyard. The balcony is a critical control point if you wish to maintain dominance in a Slayer match, as it provides LOS to many key areas on the map and controls your base. Just be careful, however, as it is very exposed, and the only way out is into the open. Connecting the two bases on the outside is an open pathway that will aid in flanking the enemy if they control their balcony. 3x DMR 2x Assault Rifle 2x Needle Rifle 2x Plasma Pistol 1x Needler 1x Grenade Launcher 1x Energy Sword (The teleporter rooms are a bit different in the final version, as suggested) The initial rush for the Energy Sword View of the balcony overlooking red's courtyard Central Courtyard Looking into the central courtyard from the open passage outside Blue's teleporter to their balcony and Gravity lift (in the courtyard) to balcony Overlooking the outside passage that connects the bases
The map looks solid for gameplay, but I might consider putting some more aesthetics in, and it doesn't really resemble a plaza[i/] to me. I'd add, maybe some walkway covers, and maybe some walls instead of blocks.
Good map, I just think something else is missing .... Try to not repeat the same blocks often, or ends up causing an impression of a "uncreative place". But the gameplay is great!
I've gotten two reviews from the Tester's Guild (one before release, one after) and they both mentioned the 4x4 block pieces. I'll swap those out for something different to mix up the aesthetics a bit. Thanks for the downloads!
