Xtremity Balanced Halo 2 Lockout Recreation Video comparing the layout of the original map to an older version of my recreation: New Video Coming Soon.. Show spoiler for more pictures. Spoiler This map was created 10/15/2010. I've worked very hard in perfecting everything people remember from Halo 2's Lockout when it came to spawns, jumps, gametypes, and anything else you can think of. I used my original Xbox and a copy of Halo 2 to ensure this not to mention my experience of when Halo 2 was still online in matchmaking. Framerate was considered through the entire map making process. Weapons are balanced when it comes to clips and spawn rate. Spawns were monitored closely. Most gametypes are supported but I recommend playing the Zero Bloom Classic Slayer gametype below which released by 343/Waypoint and was edited by Xsjados to ensure the best gameplay that resembles both Halo 2 and Halo 3. Download Xtremity Balanced Zero Bloom Classic Slayer Xtremity Balanced is different from "Xtremity Final Redux" in that a few extra spawns were added, the angle from elbow looking down to DMR1 ramp has been fixed, Shotty drop down is now much bigger and more accurate, the columns at Snipe 3 now give proper cover to whoever is at elbow as well as makes the jumps from middle and S2 columns more accurate to the original, proper coloring of map pieces were added, gravity lift has been changed to be more dependable(there were some issues where it would fail once in awhile), some clear ramps were exchanged with dark ramps to fit better with the aesthetics of the map, the addition of a needler rifle where one of the original needlers were, and like I said before, weapon clips and spawn times were changed to ensure better overall gameplay experience. Note: This map is played with 110/120% Speed, 125% Jump Height, and 150% Gravity. Most gametypes are supported.
So is this any different from: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/124828-lockout-xtremity-final.html, or did you just repost it? cus i see no indications in the post that youve updated it
I have edited my post to give a better idea of what's been changed from my former version. There are many changes I assure you.
haha the halo 2 spartan is changing colors with the time at start he is red.. in the end he is green... Well good jobb whit the map!! i know lockout is a hard remake!! And you have done it awesome!!
Best Lockout remake since day 1 of Reach. That has not changed. The map truly stays true to the original and the creator is one of the most dedicated I've ever seen. Would highly recommend everyone downloads this. There is not a single Lockout remake out there that is more accurate than this one. This is a truly top-notch remake. Looking forward to any of your future projects, if there are any.
Thank you very much. I hope one day to get this featured on websites like forgehub as well as maybe replacing Eclipse in the classic playlist. I've created a Blood Gulch remake as well as a map inspired by Warlock that I haven't released yet but it shows much promise to being an interesting and fun experience for competitive gameplay. I just have to do more testing on it.
Have you ever considered expanding to other games? There are plenty of maps that have not even received remakes, especially ones from lesser-known games. I have plenty of suggestions for you, if you want.
Well I never really considered being a complete forger. The main reason why I created Lockout and spent so much time on it was because it was my favorite map, because the halo 2 matchmaking servers were shut down, and because Blackout was a sorry excuse for a remake not to mention all the remakes that came out on Halo Reach that claim to be perfect but lack many things. I could try to remake maps from other games but I'm not sure how well they would turn out considering I most likely don't know as much about those games as I do Halo.
Thank you. It was very hard including almost everything that the original map had and maintaining the framerate.
Great map, plays just like the original, great attention to detail, well worth the months youve put into it
Np dude!! Cant wait for more of your forge!! Like the other dude said.. if you are doing more forges!!
Thank you DT. That means a lot to me. I feel the time I put into this map was well worth it just the same. Even 1v1s are friendly/competitive like they used to be =D
One of the most accurate remakes of Lockout I've seen (if not the most). I was able to run through the map a few times and I took it into Forge to see how you built some things. Overall, it's great. Plays so much like the original I nearly cried especially with no bloom DMRs. My only concern is the amount of pieces you used. It may end up having a little bit of lag for larger parties especially if they're connected internationally, but it looks like you took that into account and tried to make the map as lag-free as possible. I want to try and get a 16-player international lag test going on this map just to be sure. anyone in?
I've played this map with full parties of 16 with members of my gaming community, Full Throttle Gaming. There's literally an amazing framerate overall no matter how many players, even on splitscreen. Thank you so much. I'm up to test it with you
