Echo (name in works)

    Hello all welcome to a preview of my latest map.
    Bored with the hard work of remakes I decided to make a map that is my own creation.

    Following the standard tried and tested map format of 2 bases and 2 sub bases I created a symmetrical map that is reflected.
    I have tried a few names and after finding my recent name latin for mirror - speculum, but as that word is also a word for an instument used in gynecology I decided it may not be best suited.

    I am unsure if I should have roof or open. At the moment it spawns in 15 -16 seconds to give both looks. opinions on this would be greatful.

    Weapons:
    8 - 10 dmr 20's
    2 x assault rifle 30's
    2 x plasma pistol 60's
    2 x plasma repeater 60's
    2 x focus rifle 180's
    2 x rockets 180's no clips
    2 x grenade launcher
    8 x frag
    4 x plasma

    4 x health pack
    1 x overshield red base
    1 x camo blue base

    This is a team orientated map
    I have this set up to work for slayer and bro slayer.
    assault
    ctf
    headhunter
    territories
    infection....so far, there are enough neautral spawns around for ffa to work on any game but it is more team orientated. Other gametypes may follow if required.

    The map is a full budget production and two lights, but there are no framerate problems or laggy areas. I have worked out how to fix any protential z-fighting as I forge this, and no problems. Untested and hope to get customs running on this this week....Just need to find some space on my fileshare.

    The pictures kind of remind of Enclosed, which has alot of open sight on the top and alot of ways to drop down to bottom lvls.
    Personally i dislike that map due to the openess of it and the fact that Jetpacks get an advantage to fast by flying up from the pits or over any cover.
    The water (if deadly) is a nice way to limit the movement of people downstairs.

    Thats just my opinion though

    Yeah, I don't like the advantage jetpackers can have on a map. In tests no jet packs used and I would say it could spoil this map in some ways. . . The water in center isn't deadly but is very open, central structure was added to break lines of sight. There is a teleporter symmetrically on either side for slayer only. There are a number of ways around and drops to add a variation in gameplay. I am runnning tests at the moment and anything that crops up will be fixed before launch. No sniper on map but the focus rifle can be as damaging, I think rockets & grenade launcher are too much so may change one to shot gun.

    After testing and feedback I have updated the map. Beta is on the post if anyone ants to test it out, thanks.
