Hey, I thought it was a good topic worthy of a necro bump. Besides, none listed were nearly as bad as Extreme Paintbrawl, and I just couldn't let that go. I remember how excitied I was to get a paintball game because I was into that kinda thing back in the day. I was never more disappointed than when I poped in that CD-ROM and beheld the craptacular fest before me. I couldn't believe a game that was sold in stores could actually be that bad.

    The official Xmen game.

I bought it thinking it was a different xmen game, it definitely was not. It was horrid and add to that the fact that I thought I had bought another game it was doubly disappointing.

If you know, you know. If you don't, you are one lucky bastard.

I couldn't find any good shots, so I took one myself.

I would say Minecraft, but I'd get shot. I'll go with A Kingdom For Keflings. I will never forgive my cousin for forcing me to try it...

I didn't notice it until after I had uploaded to photobucket. When I saw it, I decided to keep it.

I can black it out in MS Paint if that will make you feel more secure about yourself.

Worst game I haven't finished? TimeShift. Perfect example of awesome ideas let down by shitty application of said ideas.

Worst game I have finished? Theres a six-way tie between Halo Wars, Alone In The Dark, BulletWitch, Sonic The Hedgehog (360 retail release version, not XBLA), The Bourne Conspiracy, and Turok (360). Although, I think AITD deserves the following meme...

EDIT: Just had to remove Halo Wars from that list. Damn your youthful wisdom, Neo. :p

    I can't disagree more.

Timeshift had great multiplayer. Single player, not so much.

Halo Wars is, IMO, the best RTS on the 360. It's not an amazing RTS, but tbh, it's one of the better on the 360.

    Turok had fun multiplayer.

    The rest, did indeed, suck.

At least somebody liked TimeShift. I think I got about halfway through it, then gave up. It was cool at first, but just started repeating itself and became a massive grind. Never tried the multiplayer as I didn't have stable internet when I owned it, but this thread is about single player. ;)

Halo Wars was a decent RTS, but it left me wanting. It had awesome cinematics, but after I finished it I didn't feel any sort of accomplishment or achievement. The gameplay was stable, so I suppose it wasn't the worst single player game I've ever played. Fine, redacted. :p

As for the others on that list, what can I say? I was young and naive.

I can put you on a plane to Cali and we'll be bros and shtuff and Ill teach you humor, and you drive us over to Santa Clara (Because I dont have my permit yet), where Grif is, and will have partays. Or you can be a Georgian and laugh at lolcats all day.

Bad games can have a charm all their own. Either in the campy sense that you can enjoy how bad they are, like a cheap horror flick, or in the sense that they lack craftsmanship and become exploitable. It’s a unique feeling to come across a game and slowly discover that the designers weren’t entirely aware of what they were doing, it suddenly becomes a match between you and them rather than you and the game itself. It is a very neat experience to break a game open this way and completely ruin the enemies with an efficiency the designers never intended.

The worst, worst games, the ones with no redeeming qualities are the high budget well crafted games that have a lot of polish but are built on poor ideas. You play these games and they make sure to carry you along in the way the designers intended. You can't do anything but run through the game the way they want, there's no room for freedom, no opportunity to make the most of things. Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS is one of these games.
