Simple solution, just delete all the other maps ;)

While framerate probably isn't one of the strongest points of the map, I did the best I could to optimize for performance while still keeping gameplay the same. Screenlag is minimal in single-screen (at least for me)... splitscreen a little sketchier, but I still think it'll be manageable.

So I'm finally going to type my post on this. I enjoyed playing all of those games on here. Nice for both vehicles and infinity. Just driving around the map seemed to be fun to do as well, especially off one of the ramps. I really don't have anything negative to say, or ways to improve. I haven't looked at all the other comments, but I personally don't recall frame rate issues. Don't know for sure. But yea, I enjoyed the map, and you might have gotten my vote for something...hint hint :)

Nope, there's no framerate. I actually remember the first time I played this map I drove Longshot around in a hog and we did pretty well. I fell in love with the map after ramping off of the highway. Those were the days.

First of all I would like to say I like everything about this map, and I see you have made some pleasant changes. Secondly I would like to say I have not been on forgehub in a while...I have been busy with some thangs. I apologize. Now that summer is over I will be on alot more! Great job on this Mock I look forward to playing this frequently in the future. :D

This map makes me angry. And here's why:

Every time I see a GREAT play-space that is incredibly fun and well-made, I'm only further reminded how Bungie screwed us with this limited Forge. For all it's improvements, It's nearly as constrictive as the first. Hopefully 343i will not make the same mistake in Halo 4.

    /rant

Well done. This map is excellent. My only problem with it is that you were too limited by Forge, and that's certainly no fault of yours.

Bungie gave us a great sandbox and we're fortunate to have such a versatile tool.

*puts lump of coal in Mikal's stocking*

Great work everyone, especially, Mock. This spiritual "remake" should fill the Headlong long hole for... about a month and a half. ;) I KID!

This is just the BTB map my large group has been looking for. Frankly, we need more well-built asymmetry in BTB Land. Thanks!

My only criticism is the large amount of blank colosseum wall on the perimeter. But I get it. When budget constraints hit, and it's time for optimization, certain areas get prioritization.

[edit: And the "money" screen warms my cod piece.]

    Thanks all!

And yes Shacker, there's a lotta colosseum wall, especially when looking from above in the screenies, but from a player perspective on the ground there are plenty of buildings to break up the monotony. Plus, you probably shouldn't be looking at the walls for too long anyway, or else a Wraith is gonna come along and turn you into a pancake :p

ALSO: Perhaps some of you have heard of Tutui's fantastical new gametype Forgeworld of Tanks? You know, the one with about a zillion tanks and you blow everyone up and stuff? Well, he and I have done the unthinkable and set Metropolis up for 4-on-4 FWOT madness! The download to the new map should be up sometime soon (pending testing), so keep your eyes peeled.

Where's that download for FWOTropolis? I had a hell of a lot of fun playing FWOT last night, and I wanna see how it plays on here. It's a shame we didn't ended up playing Metropolis last night at all last night. I hope Swooshy can live up to the awesomeness of this map.

Hey all, I have some good news: I've listened to some feedback regarding framerate and disco issues, and as a result I've gone back and thoroughly scoured the map, reducing objects, replacing objects known to cause framerate (bridge XLs and railings, mostly), and tweaking a couple minor gameplay elements to hopefully achieve an even better BTB experience. Changes of note include the teleporter from Red garage to center being changed to a mancannon, increased cover at Blue base, and a new column in the tunnel near the rocket spawn.

I'm dedicated to providing the best gameplay experience I can for you guys, so hopefully the new edits will be to your liking. All links in the original post have been updated and now point to the new version (Metropolis V1.5).

Also, I know it's rather late, but here's the DL for FWOTropolis that Duck was talking about - be prepared for intense 4v4 tank-battlin' action! Must be played with the FWOT gametype.

I wish I would get to play some of these maps more- they look so good (referring to pretty much all of your maps Mock, and the rest that were a part of the BTB ones you all released in the pack). Im happy to see you are continuing to support and improve this, it just goes to show how you do listen to feedback and try to improve. Nothing is ever finished really.

I played this one time within the last week or so and even though I never played v1 (I assume the version I played was not a v1) it seems like you have done a lot of work. The map played great and I love the layout- it reminded a teammate of mine and myself of Headlong a bit. There was however still (unless you got rid of it since) some lag. It was not that bad for gameplay, but it was there and noticeable. Also, in our flag game (I think it was 1-flag) the attackers had a hard time winning. Basically if you didnt get the flag out and to a area with cover fast you lost. Again, you may have fixed this since, but this is what I noticed during that particular game. Also, the Parking Garage area seems a bit open inside. I found myself fighting in there a bit and aside from being partially low on the ramp there was nowhere to hide within the building.

Issues aside the map was fun and I had a blast exploring the structures and pummeling people with my bullets. Great work here, I look forward to your next project.

"Metropolis" [HD] - Halo Reach Forge Maps (THFE) - (Ep.44) - YouTube

THFE is now covering competitive maps.

And yes, the new changes are definitely great. What little framerate issues there were are now gone, the man cannon is great, the spawns work way better now, and I think we did a good job of clearing out objects without making any noticeable changes.
