    **requires RRampage gametype**
    Download Map
    Download Gametype

Revenant Rampage is a fast paced, white knuckle, Revenant driven rally. It can be done alone but I recommend 3-5 players. It has the ability to play up to 8 but I've never tried. Over 8 players isn't available

The gametype- the gametype is a variant of the Rally gametype with the use of Revenants enabled. Both the Revenant and you are indestructible. There is no time limit but the points have been adjusted to 25. If you are adding more than 4 players you may want to reduce the number of points to decrease the rapidly increasing game time. The ability to ride shotgun in the revenant is disabled. If you fall off the vehicle return to it as fast as possible, as there is no way to force the Revenant to be your main vehicle. If you do not make it back in time there is little point in continueing the race.

The play style - The gameplay is set up to be virtually without pause. What this means is that there should be no more of the ridiculous leads that can occur in the Race gametype when one person makes a single mistake. With Rally you never know where the next rally point is so one simple mistake is no longer fatal, instead still allows for equal opportunity at the next rally point. This simple switch in gameplay keeps every racer aggressive and fighting for every single Rally point. I've seen a 17 point losing streak turn into a win with the sudden help of an equal hot streak.

Now some would think that the addition of a neutered Revenant would be pointless but the fact of the matter is that Revenants are a blast to drive in general, and the addition of a manipulatable turbo is the bee's knees. Though the massive cannon may be relatively painless, it still is as effective as a good shove before the finish line of race. You add the inability to shoot and thrust at the same time and you've got one skillfull ballbuster of a race.

The map style - since the goal is non stop rally battle with no signs of slowing down.
    ie. There are no respawns.
You cannot spawn in a Revenant.
There is no going back to get a vehicle.
You cannot fall to your death - ever.

This does unfortunately leave us having to stay with a more arena themed map style but I believe a little creativity could easily open that up.

    The Rules:
Don't be a Douche (for anything missed below)
Do not go through the one way shield without a Revenant (restart)
Do not fire until through the shield (at the very least)
Do not constantly shoot at someone just because. (a few consecutive shots is fine)
Do not shoot someone who is already out of the Revenant
Do not shoot at an unoccupied Revenant

As much as I like the map that I have created here I'm actually hoping that a few of FH's amazing race track forgers would be inspired to create thier own Revenant Rampage rally track. If you have been, and do build a track please put RR in front of your map name and tag the map on Bungie with RRampage.

A last minute change to the map adds a short Mongoose rally to make the transition less rough.[IMG]
Jump off at the OFF point and switch to Revenants

The top level level sports dual entry points in the form of a lift or a ramp.

All but the lowest level offer rally points that are visible from the majority of the map.

    Revenants were made for this

The express lift runs from the lowest level to the highest

one of my favorite rally points on the map for no justifiable reason. I think it may be the sideways sliding turn :)

The aggressive race to a spawn point can fluster even the most competent of drivers.

The transparent maze on the lowest level will throw off beginners more than once.

'Can an admin change the canvas map to forgeworld, TIA'

You can do it yourself, press 'go advanced' after editing your post to get up the same options you had when you submitted your map. And make sure you reselect the supported gametypes.

Map looks awesome, good idea for using Revenants : )

Sweet, thx. I thought it seemed odd that I couldn't edit that. Then again, I was trying to edit it on my phone.

While not a huge fan of race maps, I've been pulled into quite a few race customs over the past year, and it's good to see someone think outside of the box. It was a great idea to use a Revenant over the Mongoose and using the coliseum is brilliant too.

As a small suggestion did you notice that covenant vehicles can drive on shield doors? If a player is shot at and flips you then will fall through it. May be an interesting addition to the map.

PS: I still think There is no F in Way is your most enjoyable work ;) maybe you could work on something similar next?

PPS: I also made a post recently. If you're interested check my sig :)

Thx. I've been looking for a good race map for ages but I just can't get into them due to physics /coding issues. It leaves the race feeling slow and/or broken and I find it difficult to keep motivated. The Race map forging community builds some of the most amazing maps but in the end they fail to keep my groups' interest. I like the concept of the Rally gametype because it gives everyone an equal opportunity to be first at the next random rally point. The revenants keep the game fast, fresh and challenging. People who constantly shoot can't keep the pace and people who hold down the turbo soon slow down. It really gets you working on your skills.

Yes I did, that's why there is a one way shield that pops you from the lowest floor to the middle floor without worry of falling back :) I didn't about the flipping thing though. That's kinda cool. My worry about it's use in this particular map style is that you would have blasting more than racing, which may quickly become frusterating. I do however think that if used in a small section for the sole purpose of being used that way it could be fun.

I actually did try to make a larger version of There's No F in Way but I've yet to produce anything that I truly like. I'm still trying though. I've also started probably 20 maps to which I've only finished maybe 2 which both suffered from frame lag issues. I've improved lag by 5-15% between both maps but only one of them is in good enough condition to even consider posting. I may take the concept and build a larger variation of the existing map.

I actually played both new maps (or new to my knowledge) this afternoon and I'll probably post to them in the next couple days. I'm sick as a dog and this reply (as per my usual habit) has massively outgrown my original intention :(
