Ballast

    This is just a preview of a map I am working on. The name will certainly change because I'm not crazy about this one. I have given up on my map Imperium for now because I couldn't fix the frame rate issues. I'm sure I will go back to it at some point. Ballast is a medium sized map with varying sight lines. I know some people don't like the destructed look, but I kept it to a minimum and think it enhances the map. I also was sure to add as much color as I could to avoid complete grayness like some of my other maps. Although this map is fairly symmetrical, I made things different enough so that one can always tell direction. I still have to do a few things like finish the spawns, add gametypes, and level some of the floors. All comments and criticism are welcome. It might be hard to see some of the layout from the pictures, but hey I tried.

    Holy ****. Enough said basically. This looks amazing, i can tell you have put alot of detail and time into this map and that it is going to turn out really well if you need help with anything let me know GT: Lannders.

    Looks promising- I would advise side routes in the black corners on your overview though so that players are not forced forward only.

    This looks stunning. The design seems rather simple, but I'm sure it'll work well but the aesthetics are amazing. Those man cannon window things are awesome!

    The distance you have to move forward before you can take a side path isn't that far. I have another version of the map though with 2 of the 4 corners expanded more. The only problem is it has more ugly black pieces and seems to be pushing the limit for frame rate. Nothing bad but it seems like it is getting close.

    Thank you for the compliments. I agree the layout is simple, but I am not a fan of maps that seem like mazes. I am getting better with layouts, but I'm just not there yet. I do tend to focus on aesthetics more and that sometimes forces the layouts to be simple or have to be small to have acceptable frame rate. I may take you up on your offer for testing when I'm finished because you clearly know what you're doing.
