Hey everyone. This is my first Forgehub map, however, I have been Forging since the Glory days of Halo 3! "This facility looks like an innocent warehouse on the outside, but dig deeper and you will find a stockpile of prototype UNSC weapons." The Elites are attacking the city, and are trying to break into the Warehouse to steal an object of value. This is the first phase's area. The Elites must either capture the Crane controls in the central building, or operate it manually to move the crate blocking the entrance. Now, the crate i moved and it is time to move in. The facility is huge, and inside, you'll be able to find tons of hidden weapons, and even vehicles inside the crates. Here is a Shotgun, which is located in the first bundle of crates to your right, as you walk in. This Splaser is located next to a large crate holding a Warthog. And lastly, this Warthog serves as the Human's second and third phase spawn. There are buttloads more weapons here, as well as 2 ghosts outside, if you feel like making a trip to get them. Th Elite's intel points to this crate. Plasma grenades won't work. But a Bomb, conveniently stored in a nearby crate could break through. Success! Time to find what the Elite command wants from this place. Command wants the Elites to steal a warhead to a UNSC bomb. With enough studying, we could use it as an effective weapon. Get the Bomb out of the Warehouse so that our Phantoms can extract you. Thanks for looking! I'd like Constructive criticism, because I know this is by no means perfect, and I only tested it out with 6 people, so anybody willing to help, my GT is Tymalex. Seeya later!
Nice map! A bit grey, but it doesn't matter too much as you use the structures in interesting ways, just a tip
Hey thanks a lot, man! Yeah, I'll keep that in mind in my next map! That will (Hopefully) Be up soon!
I enjoyed the setting of the map, and the aesthetics consistently worked within the warehouse theme. I do have some suggestions for improving invasion gameplay. First, hidden weapons or stockpiles of weapons in one area are generally a bad idea, since they create give an huge advantage to those who know the map (the hidden weapons), and because they create an imbalance (clumps of weapons) respectively. Another problem was that some areas (the first phase crane control room, the second phase spawn bunker), had only one way in or out. This made the first phase campable and really hard to capture there, and the second phase prone to spawn camping, since spawning in that room meant only one way out. I would open thse areas up to have one or two more ways in, even if they are still easy to defend. Finally, in the second phase, what looks to be a direct path to the objective is actually a dead end blocked by crates. I would open up some slots between crates there so people can get to the objective another way. Otherwise people may go that way and get to the dead end, and have to walk all the way back around. I really liked the objectives: the crane, the controls to the crane, the large crate which gets blown open, these were pretty novel. Overall this is a fun map and great for a first post.
Thanks a lot. I might make a V2, considering the errors you told me about. I'll make the weapons more spread out, and try to make the spawns a little more fortified, as well as making the Ghosts accessible. Thanks for the feedback! It'll help me make better maps in the future!
