Well i don't know if this was the right place to post this (im new to forgehub, on a sidenote hello everyone!) but i think this was the most appropriate place so heres the problem. I made a map and i keep getting my maps name Blam!ed and i cant figure out why. The title and discription is Proving Grounds Built by an unknown civilization, it's thought these ruins were a place to test warriors of their worthiness. thanks in advanced for the help
I'm not really sure but I think the word "Grounds" is censored for some weird reason because I once created a map and named it training grounds and it was also censored
ok thanks, i did some research and it seems that is the problem -_- some of these censored words are really stupid
Occasionally Ill get map names censored and I couldn't figure out why. But then I realised I started Forge whilst I was online, and my connection dropped out while I was in the game. After I was done I went to save it and it wouldn't let me, but after I reconnected it let me save the name I wanted. Its either a glitch or a safeguard, but either way, its annoying as hell. If the problem persists, just try Forging and saving your map while you're online and see if that works.
Along with "Ground" I believe, I have been trying to figure out why I couldn't name my map prototype "Pathways Ground Floor"
I think this is the reason right here. It happened to me yesterday. I was online when I went to forge. My connection dropped, but I still saved the map occasionally while forging. I exited forge while disconnected and the message "Your map is now called 'Blam!'" ( in a nutshell). I reselected my map (still having it's original title), went into forge seeing if things still saved (they did) and then saved just to be safe. Problem solved But one things I did notice while I was taking screenshots for Retribution (my map) I can't name the screenshot "Blue Base" otherwise it would not upload to "Recent Screenshots" on Bungie's site.
Indeed. The quoted post is from a while ago, though still amusing IMO. Specifically, the filter is applied to all user-created content on Xbox Live. It suffers from the Scunthorpe problem, it checks across word boundaries, and the person managing it is intellectually subhuman at best. Or, in more human-readable terms: "Assault", "grape", "basement", "grass", "****inson", and similar terms are blocked because they contain naughty words, but aren't themselves naughty; "All skulls except", "if a goal", and similar phrases are blocked, because when the spaces are removed, there are profanities; "Basic", "glitch", "ground", "base", "epic", "mystery", "puzzle", and countless others are blocked because Micro$oft hires people with severe mental deficiencies. So to avoid the filter, you need to avoid using words that contain other words inside of them; you need to watch the order of your words; and you need to avoid using the English language. Oh, and don't expect a fix. As long as it doesn't interfere with Micro$oft making money, they won't do anything about it. You can feel free asking 343i via the Waypoint Forums, but they don't care either. All we can do is rage.
