Thanks to Collision_Impact and others for helping with game testing!*** I get this a lot so I wanted everyone to know.. Q. Why is the battlefield quite open? A. This map was made for close-quarter weapons ONLY(sword/hammer). CASTLE SIEGE Map Name: Castle Siege Gametype Name: Medieval CTF Gallery: This map is specifically made for CTF only. Gametype download is required. Aim of the Game If you've ever played Castle Wars from RuneScape(where I got the idea to make this), you'll notice some significant similarities to the battlefield. Both sides are perfectly symmetrical. This map tries to mimic medieval times by using swords/hammers only. There is a flag on top of both castles, the aim of course is to "steal" the enemies flag by invading their castle as a team and returning it home. Do not fall in the water(blue grids) as this will kill you instantly(with no respawn penalty of course!). Gametype settings: Everyone starts with either energy sword or gravity hammer(depending on loadout), killing an enemy takes 2 - 3 hits to balance capturing your opponents flag, health regeneration is 200% faster, unlimited equipment-use is enabled(sprint/hologram). Tips/extra - ! Has been recently tested with positive reviews and works best with a full party of 16. ! Working as a team is necessary, make sure at least one person is on defense. ! Using the gravity hammer can 2-hit enemies while the sword is 3-hit. Download, comment and leave feedback. Thanks.
looks great, but open in some areas. What i dont understand is whu you didnt make this over water so you didnt have to use grids and you couldve saved 200 and the X's seem weird but I guess you wanted that. I like the first picture. its intriuging. And weapons? I just read back and realized your gametype, but this could also be a very good competitive map with more cover. the sight lines are huge. A dmr could be a power weapon. Yeah, and your seems to be very good.
Ya I get this quite a lot - I didn't make this over water because from a far this map is actually quite huge, I didn't think i'd be able to have enough space to create the battlefield over. The X's are barricades to fill the space up lol. As for the weapons it was originally planned to use only the sword/hammer to fit the medieval theme thats why you could see a huge deal of space on field. Also best for 12+ players.
To be completely honest, this actually seems a LOT smaller than the original version. And what about barricades and all the other stuff players could use from that spawn room thing? I know this part isn't your fault but if the map was larger it would be so much more fun with about 40 players. The biggest of all BTB.
Yep it does, I didn't try to duplicate everything from the original Castle War's otherwise I would have renamed the map "Castle Wars". I only used its basic layout but added different things due to how much I was limited to. I used so much that I was lucky to have enough Walls to create the land and boundaries. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I have updated the gametype settings to work much better as intended: - Flag running with equipment is enabled. - Shields are removed but your health will have a stronger damage resistance modifier. - movement is increased by 10%.
I've never played this 'castle wars' you speak of but this looks pretty good, i like how the symmetry is lined up perfectly on both castles, i was going to ask about the weapons but i see you've said the map is only made for a specific gametype so i shall download both and give it a go with some friends later on. overall looks pretty cool
