First and foremost, my first ever Halo game was Halo CE. I played the game for a solid 3+ years on the weekends during the summers, would have played every weekend during spring and fall but I was in college For the past three days I've been studying Quake map design and I already know what HCE map design is like such s Priz, Chill, and Dammy. I first sketched a layout on paper making sure to label the tiers (levels) and how many atriums (one). Over the past few days I've been forging quake-style maps intentionally to learn the forge process better and get a better grasp on which objects work well with one another without graphical clipping. My map in a nutshell is an asymmetrical map with two power weapons and two armor abilities split 50/50. One team will spawn with a sniper and jet pack at the start of a game, whereas the other team will start with a grenade launcher and evade. I hope to receive some solid feedback on this map because I spent a good amount of time on it and I put a lot of work into making it aesthetically pleasing.
