Hey guys, this is my new BTB map, Seismic. The maps name is currently Seismic, but I would be happy to accept any name suggestions. Seismic is a BTB map that is built in the Blood Gulch, it features vehicle use and counter vehicle weapons. It has a middle strucutre, two bases along with two grenade launcher buildings, and some rocks for cover. Now for some pics.
So... Hemorrhage with a small structure in the middle? I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to achieve here. Would help if you posted some more pictures, though.
Yeah you cannot tell anything about the map from that. All I can and will say is that that is a pretty building.
Pics implies that there is more than one. Anyways don't you think that's a bit cramped for a btb centerpiece? Edit: This is supposed to be a finished map? Looking a what you have I assumed you had just started. In that case you definitely need to do something to make it different from every other two bases and a centerpiece thrown down on hemorrhage. From what nibbles said you need these
I guess I'll throw my two cents in while I'm here. After playing on this map two or three times now, Ive noticed the things that ruined the gameplay consistently. 1. DMR starts are a must on BTB maps. No exceptions. Yet, everytime we played we had AR starts. 2. Your structures just don't define the map enough. Meaning, they are just too small to actually serve any meaningful purpose. (this goes double for the bases) 3. Seeing as you insist on having AR starts, more DMR/NR's need to be added to the map. 4. Most of the LOS are ridiculous. This is only worsened by the fact that progressing out of your team's base without DMR's is near impossible. 5. Vehicles dominate everything else (because of inadequate cover/structures). My fixes: 1. Start using DMR starts when testing (regardless what kind of map it is). 2. Expand your structures. Make the base feel more like a base, not just three 2x4's connected. Expand the middle building aswell, possibly, add some pathways coming off the side of it and connecting to two smaller structures. 3. Even when using a DMR start gametype, they still need to be easily found and accessible throughout the map. 4. Expanding all of your structures will actually help break down some of your LOS problems (depending on how you go about expanding them). 5. Vehicles should also be made less dominant with improved buildings. Hope this helps.
