    This is a little late notice, but me and some of my mates are having an old school gaming night tomorrow night (<24hours from now). So far, the games we are hoping to play (and the ones I can remember right now) are;
    • StarCraft 1
    • Counter-Strike 1.5
    • Worms Armageddon
    • Quake 3 Arena
    • SWAT
    • Warhammer 40,000
    • DOOM (maybe)
    • AvP
    • Unreal Tournament 2000 or 2004
These are just the ones I can remember at the moment, but I think there were more mentioned. So, the point of this thread is to ask everyone if they can think of some other "old school" games for us to play on the night. I know its in less than 24 hours, but I will check back here tomorrow and see if there are any worthy games. Shouldn't be too hard to get our hands on a copy by download, seeming as the games we are after should have been made around 10 years ago.

So yeh, if you mention something they have to be oldish games, but still awesome. And don't mention Halo CE, because I don't think we'll be able to download it, and if we do then it'll probably be the only game we play all night. :p

And, as one last mention, hopefully this will inspire some of you guys out there to hold your own old school night. It got us excited, so hopefully it'll do the same for any of you out there who like to LAN. Have fun!

Diablo might be alright. Come on guys, less than ten hours and I can't think of anything else.

Oh, we're also playing BF1942, coz that game rules.

CS 1.5, really? Sure you don't mean 1.6?

Also, Red Alert 2 if you're up for some old school RTS fun but less serious and competitive than SC:BW.

If you're looking for a good RTS, Total Annihilation. If you need another FPS, Tribes 2 is also a lot of fun.

I was gonna suggest Red Alert 2, but someone beat me too it. If you have Yuri's Revenge, just remember the honor rule:

    SELL YURI MCV CRATES!!!!!

    Otherwise it's no fun.

If you can rustle it up, get the original Quake. Badass game and my favorite Quake of all time. The marathon series is good because they are all free for PC. I recommend Marathon: Rubicon for multiplayer battles (it's a community version of the game using the engine but it has the best graphics). If you can get ahold of an emulator ("Project 64" is the best one, you could play Mario Kart 64 on your PC's. OR BATTLE TANKS!!!!!

I have Project 64 around somewhere, but it wouldn't be hard to download it again. Tribes is actually a pretty good suggestion, and I think C&C was mentioned at one point too. DoW is pretty much played every time we have a LAN, so I don't think we'll be playing that one. And yeh, Peg, 1.5 :p. I tried playing it last night for a test run, but it didn't work because, I'm guessing, Windows 7 doesn't like it. May have to end up downloading 1.6 anyway, bit its not as old school as 1.5. Frownee faec.

I like the suggestions so far, guys, keep 'em coming. ;)

Lol, we only ended up playing Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2004 and Counter-Strike: Source. Kinda knew we wouldn't get around to playing all those games, but it was better having more than we needed than less than we wanted. Most of the time was taken up by trying to get the bloody things to work on our computers, anyway. :p
