not much to contribute, but i dont have much else. Tottenham was my team before Robbie Keane left.

    *cough* 8-2 *cough*

United will win the league this season.

Chelsea is a team full of old men who struggle to grind out home results to the likes of Norwich City (another penalty?).

Arsenal. The 8-2 defeat speaks for itself.

Tottenham have had a couple very rough games so far. I reckon they will get their stuff together and finish 4th or 5th

The scousers will take 3rd this year. Even though I detest them, King Kenny has made some smart moves and the new signings are paying off...

City will come second. After spending over £250 million on more players, their squad will likely crumble and argue within itself. This will be because 4 or 5 players are always competing to be in a spot in the starting 11. Even though that can be an advantage, some players will be leaving/sold who are vital to a victory this season.

United are looking top yet again. After the sale of Ronaldo two years ago, with the £80+ million they got from him, they have spent only £17 million on 15 new players! With all the new young players: Young, Smalling, Jones, Cleverley and Welbeck the team looks unstoppable. Already beating City in the charity shield, Tottenham 3-1 and Arsenal 8-2 their 'hard games' are turning out pretty easy.

Well it's good that some people watch football. I've been watching all the seasons for as long as I can remember.

    What's wrong with Drogba?
Since you hate him, though, you should check out his recent knockout. You'll likely enjoy it.

wow... Arsenal had a tough loss there. They're still my favorite team though. I'm scared to know how Man. U. will be ranked in Fifa 12 this year..sigh. Looked like the Arsenal goalie was pissin himself on most of those goals as well.

Lol clearly you know nothing about soccer. Chelsea fan sounds ridiculous, youre a supporter, most likely cus theyre one of the most popular teams in the world. Dzeko has been a world class striker for time. Surely you meant Samir Nasri.

**** Chicharito its going to be all about Welbeck this year.

"Torres seems to finally be fitting in with the other strikers..." LOLOLOL, hes scored one goal in 17 games for chelsea and has looked awful. Mata is going to be the player to watch for them this year. Hilario has allowed two goals in two games against horrendous teams.

Lol you dont see Arsenal or Tottenham qualifying for an European competition? We're three games into the season and they both have two of the best managers in all of soccer, they will be fine. Bale and Defoe are two of the most dangerous attackers in soccer, and I can't see mordic going anywhere.

Carrol has looked far from great as he hasnt scored a goal, and was used as a late sub in their last game.

And lol what preseason did you watch? You mean when they toured the US cus thats not a good way to measure how theyll play during the season. Manchester City wont finish in first lmfao, and its funny how you only seem to know about 5 teams.

I would like to start off by saying that those are my opinions, nothing less and nothing more. I didn't start this discussion to have my opinions disregarded or flamed. So **** off.
Fan and supporter are both the same in my eyes so the differentiating doesn't even matter. And if you must know, I became a Chelsea fan/supporter/whatever the **** you want to call it from watching the 8-0 victory against Wigan at the end of the 09/10 season to secure the championship... not from a bandwagon effort like half of the so-called Manchester United fans.
No I did not mean Sami Nasri. I meant Edin Dzeko and that's why I typed Edin Dzeko. And also excuse my bit of ignorance. If you had seen this is my first full season watching the Premier League so it sounds feasible that I have not heard much of Dzeko before now.
They're both going to be standouts at Man U.
From this statement, I am very inclined to think that you only look at stats and nothing more than stats. You can tell very little about how a player plays and performs from looking at stats. When I said Torres seems to finally be fitting in with the other strikers, that doesn't necessarily mean that he's scoring goals. From actually WATCHING him play the game, he seems more comfortable at Chelsea than he for the second half of the last season that he was with them. I do think Mata is a great addition. And about Hilario, again, you seem to only be looking at stats. Sure he's made a few mistakes and given up 2 goals, but from actually WATCHING him play, he seems to be a fine, if only temporary, replacement for Petr Cech.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham had less than stellar ends to last season as well, so I'm not just judging that on three games from this season. Again, WATCHING them play, both teams just seem to be going downhill and not keeping up with the pace of the rest of English soccer.
Again, stats don't mean ****. And again, from WATCHING him play, he looks good.
I'm measuring how teams will play based on the overall picture, not one game or one small period of time. And it's perfectly fine that you don't think Man City will finish first. Again, that's my opinion so don't tell me it's wrong. I'm not saying it's right, but it isn't wrong either. That's what an opinion is.

I only posted about these teams because those are the teams I know the most about and have been following since they're the most likely to compete this year.

tl;dr: Get the **** off of my opinions.

So you became a supporter because they won 8-0 against a struggling Wigan (who aren't great anyway)? Just sayin they only won that season cuz Liverpool rolled over to them at Anfield.
How many times have you seen them (in RL)?

Do you know how you became a fan of your team? It just kind of happens. It was one of those things where I had barely heard of Chelsea or the Premier League, saw the game on tv, and started following them.

I live in America so I've unfortunately never seen any European game in person.

This thread is not here to tell anyone my opinions are right or to justify my fandom. Just because you don't like Chelsea doesn't mean you have to give me flack about it. This thread is here to discuss the Premier League.

I'm definitely no expert on this stuff, I just wanted to actually discuss the league with some people since barely anyone I know follows it.

    .

Your opinions are invalid.Youre probably basing them off 2 or 3 games you've watched. A striker who doesnt score or have assists is rarely important to a team, except in occasions like Peter Crouch where his height plays to a teams advantage. Torres has looked **** since the world cup.

So what makes your opinions valid? Coming in, telling me I'm completely wrong and that I know nothing about soccer gives me no reason to think that I should hold any merit in your opinions.

They're opinions, not a critical analysis or objective review. I know where both of you stand because you are choosing to share your opinions. One is not more "valid" than another.

I've been a fan of Arsenal since my first fifa game where I fell in love with Thierry Henry. He's playing in the MLS now, but I still like Arsenal a lot. Van Persie is from Holland and I root for the dutch in the World Cup.

EDIT: Just realized that Fabregas signed with barcelona. FML.

I have been a United fan from the minute I could comprehend football and the league.
For the first eleven years of my life I lived two minutes from Manchester, most of my family and friends support them. It's sort of been indoctrinated into my system since early childhood. Even though I live in North America now, I've seen them about 2 dozen times.

All good goals, too. Arsenal may have turned it around, but they won't be able to go the distance.

indeed. I'm just happy that they're coming to together. Won 9 out of their last 10 games. W/o Van Persie's leadership they would not be making a comeback

Can we revive this thread? Seemed like their was enough healthy discussion going on in those recent blogs.

How about Everton whewwwww. I haven't seen Man U look so messed up in a long time. Fellaini absolutely owned the midfield and everything in the air. Kudos to Everton for a solid start
