I have a few questions that i hope can be answered.

    1. How are jump pads made?

    2. What is the secret to creating a map that not only looks good but feels and plays good?

    3. What have you learned from forging?

    4. Does anyone else think that most of the community maps that are in MM can be beat by most of the newbie forgers on Forgehub?

    1. Jump Pad
    2. Experience...which is definitely a secret.
    3. What have you learned in life?
    4. By some of the good forgers here, yes. You clearly have not seen some of the maps by "newbie" forgers here. Please read this announcement.

    1: LINK *click* lol

2: there's no secret. You simply got to have a good idea and more important, build it up better :D
If the look is good and the gameplay (more important, usually xD) feels good, then that's all you got lol

3: i have learned to build a map in a Halo game?? :surprise:

4: no, newbie-maps are newbish lol. even from forge-hub members :p
but I do agree if you would say: the GOOD maps from FH are better than the ones in MM.

EDIT: lol pyro6666 you're 3. answer is good trollin ;)

I guess some of the newbie maps ARE something a bit bad. As for 3 i meant what sort of things that you have actually learned to better your maps.

1.I don't know what you mean when your reffering to jump pads, so I'll skip that.

2.What is the secret: Time, patients, and a good feeling in your gut. When I feel proud of something and it looks good and plays great, I know its right (in my own way), but no one can really know.

    3. Its taught me that one can be ceative with the right tools, and that with patients, comes happiness and greatness.

4.I'd have to say 50% of the MM community can be beat by 'newbie' forgers on Forgehub, but I can't judge them.

    This MY opinion.

Why thank you. I have some experience in the area of answering questions with questions.

BTW my link is better. jump tags ftw.

Actually there is a secret to forging great maps. Unless you don't count being awesome as a secret.

Noble Forger, patients are not required for forging a good map. Patience generally is though.

Finally a person with 4 good, serious answers! BTW jump pads are like grav lifts that are activated only by pressing "a" when standing on them.

    1. I'm going to skip this because it's basically already answered.

    2. I like to do a basic sketch on some graph paper before I even open the forge editor. I judge which spot is best to build my map in forge world. Then I work on gameplay elements and barely pay any attention to detail.(Unless I'm bored) This method is also known as whiteboxing in the world of Level Design. This is a great way to experiment with different level layouts, and plot out what kind of special elements you wish to place in your level. The rest is just comes along as you go.

3.The simple basics of level design.

4.Personnely, it's the ones that are 'tooooo' balanced. Some Forgers around here, which will remain unamed, do this extensively and kill the overall fun factor in their maps. Don't get me wrong though, I hate rocket launchers that spawn every 30 seconds with 6 spare clips as much as the next guy. Unless it's a mini-game, then by all means.

    1. How are jump pads made?
dunno, probably a guide for it somewhere.

    2. What is the secret to creating a map that not only looks good but feels and plays good?
Theme, keeping a constant aesthetic throughout the map is more important than having a single good looking object. Creating a map that plays well is about making sure people dont notice anything bad about the map, for example, you dont want anyone to notice a bad spawn or a part of the map that breaks flow.

    3. What have you learned from forging?
A lot about art and artists, almost every art is the same, acting, painting, forging. Artists are always more important than the art, but it takes above and beyond art to make an artist notable.

    4. Does anyone else think that most of the community maps that are in MM can be beat by most of the newbie forgers on Forgehub?
I dont thing the newbies can beat the MM maps, but there are a lot here that are better.

It seems like a lot of the maps in MM are made by newbies at forging.

I think it's better for him to get to the top of the Guide, because he would instantly see the awesomeness of the forging tricks (if you can call it "tricks" xD) *_*
or I was too lazy... call it the way you want ;D

To be awesome @ forging is no secret...
There are people who simply can't forge a good map ;D
Some even don't have the patience to stay 10 minutes in forge, because they're uncreative :(
