Remake Grounded (Zanzibar)

    Dude in the last pic you shuld make it able to jump from the strut to the mountain thats whot i mean!!

    The second photo doesn't show anything blocking the rooms on top of camp froman, people might be able to get in, especially with jet packs on. Apart from that a spot on remake by the looks of things. Download pending :)

    i never liked zanzabar, but i love the fact that i can play it on halo reach. this is a very good remake and unlike other remakes, it feels just like halo 3 and 2. good job

    This looks really promising! I will have to give this one a try at my friends house.
    why at my friends house? because I broke my reach disc xd.

    the map seems to be really accurate and deserves more attention than it does now and I cannot wait to play this when the TU is released.

    Very good work. Love the simplicity for such a large and complex map. Made all the right concessions when the tough decisions came around.

    Gave this map a download yesterday and was VERY impressed! Most of the jumps are neat and accurate (I played on the Classic GT) and i could easily pinpoint where i was on the map based on Halo 3's "Last Resort" Unfortunately, i have never played Zanzibar =[

    Overall: Great map and i'm looking forward to more remakes if you forge any =]

    I had downloaded the earliest version you had posted and looked around then, and I agree that the layout and terrain are the best yet, though the weapons were still mostly on default settings. Since I was hoping to use it at a halo party this past weekend, I took the liberty of editing the weapons myself, changing respawn times and whatnot, and throwing in some of my own additions for good measure. Though now that I see you have newer versions posted I hope things like that you fixed yourself (you know, for other people not me.) And I did notice there was a little bit of a framerate issue in splitscreen (though we were in forge mode) and I hope that doesn't carry over into gameplay much if at all. Ultimately not enough people showed up (hurricAAAAAANE!! *shakes fist at sky*) to play any serious games, but I at least showed it off, and my friends liked it. That should be enough. Though congratz on the FHF.

    ^ had same issue as Blondish. Also i really used to like your remake. I say used to because as soon as i saw the SS with the 3 story it ruined it...and not so much the fact you used one but that its not closed off....it just looks....bad...but hey good job other wise and it plays wonderfull. Kudos

    EDIT: fail....didnt remember my comment wasnt on the same page as Blondish -.-

    I always take in every comment on my maps to help ensure they're as accurate as can be. So thanks again for all the feedback everyone. I do plan on releasing at least one more update for this map. I'll be looking into the 3-story tower to see if i can get it blocked off instead of using a soft-kill b/c you all seem to want it really badly. I'm also looking into the jump that blondish stated. I didn't remember there being a jump there in Zanzibar, but I knew it was in Last Resort if you are referring to jumping from the Strut on the beach to the rock arches on the beach wall. That was only possible though b/c they extended the strut closer to the wall in Last Resort. I'll be looking into it though to see if it was possible on Zanzibar and if so then expect that to come in my next update.

    Thanks again for the FHF XX votes everyone. I hope to have the same success for my future maps as well. Speaking of that, any suggestions for another map you want remade?

    Very nice map you have there yet the one thing that staggers me here is the 3 Story Building on top of the mini-base, which isn't very appealing. I would suggest covering up the opening of the building with walls or blocks if there is still some budget left. Trust me, it would improve the map quite nicely ^^.

    It's a good remake , but it still doesnt feel like good ole zanzibar. Something is missing. I just feel like I get splattered by ghosts constantly and the rocket spawn is kind of fast. But the looks, great remake!

    I know what you mean. No matter how accurate I make it it'll never feel like the original. Especially with forge limitations in the way which forced me to make some cuts here and there. Trying to do the best I can though. Weapon spawn times are a huge much-needed fix coming in v5 along with some minor structural changes to hopefully help with that little bit of lag in certain areas.

    Alright everyone. v5 is on it's way. It just looks and feels so much better. No lag either. This is gonna be good w/o bloom.

    v5 is here! Get it while it's hot! Feedback is appreciated.

    Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details

    Alterations (v5):
    - The map looks better aesthetically
    - Uses less pieces to help with framerate issues
    - Plays amazing w/ no bloom DMRs
    - Covered the roof so no one can jump on it and drop through the ceiling
    - reduced the number of vehicles (1 'hog and 1 ghost per base)
    - fixed the weapon respawn times (also tweaked extra clips)
    - You can now jump out of sword and back onto the bridge
    - You can jump on top of the sea wall from shotgun side now
    - Got enough $ and pieces left over for Invasion (coming in v6)
    -

    Still to come (v6):
    - v6 will be my final edit to fix any issues found w/ v5
    - Invasion support (Gametype coming as well)
