After using this site primarily for downloading amazing maps, I decided to upload the Duck Hunt map that I finished back in December. Basically this map has been in a sort of "testing" phase for these many months, with random changes being made occasionally to a portion of the map. But anyway, here's a little history about me and forge. I first played Duck Hunt on Halo 3 on some maps a friend had downloaded. Soon afterwards, that friend and I tried our hand at forging one. My first map has on Foundry and although it was rough around the edges, it was extremely fun to play. I then moved on to making one on the up-in-the-sky part of Sandbox, which utilized many jumps and different items (or whatever they're called), you know, things like the bubble shield and etc. This brings me to Reach. Reach doesn't have any items. The lack of bubble shields, flares, etc. forces the forger to be creative in a new way. He/she must utilize the natural layout of forgeworld, their own unnatural placement of items, and also: the armor abilities. I believe I have created a one-of-a-kind Duck Hunt. Friends tell me it's great, so I've decided to bring it to ForgeHub, the home of great maps. As it is my first map, all feedback is extremely appreciated. If y'all like it, I've already made another one awhile back I can upload too (but I like this one much better anyway). As a side note, it only supports 8 people, but it would be very easy to edit the map and add more if you need them. Also, I suggest downloading my variant of Duck Hunt, "Duck Hunt 69!" ShadowFacts985 Here's the sniper tower. It is a 3 level complex that provides multiple views of different parts of the map depending on where the sniper stands. My personal preference is taking the time to run downstairs. Almost everyone else stays on the spawning level, however. Alternate view: This is the building where up to seven humans can spawn and grab an armor ability before heading out to take out the zombie: Humans then exit the building and grab a mongoose. Don't get left behind! A view from the zombies perspective of several obstacles: Random images: The weapon/powerup/teleporter room: Human victory! Thanks again for any feedback! Hope you like it!
How long did this take you to make, some areas look like they were given more time put into them at certain points. Anyways I'll give it a go and tell you how it is from the Tester's perspective.
I can't say with absolute certainty how long I worked on it. It was so long ago that I'm just not sure. I'd guess maybe 4-6 hours for the basic layout and obstacles, and then later on maybe 1-2 more hours adding random aesthetically pleasing things. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Can't wait to hear what you think of it from actually playing it.
