Hello Forgehub. I just finished forging my Tetris map a few days ago, and I'm here to share it with you. This Tetris map is based off of the original Tetris map featured in Halo 3. The premise of the game is that a single Warthog driver on top of the map is pushing blocks and other objects into a large hole, and the players inside the hole must avoid being splattered or trapped, while climbing upward. Players who are trapped for too long are killed. Game specs: -Rounds are 3 minutes long, timed out specifically for this game. -Players must survive for 1:00 before the FIRST ramps spawn. -Players have 30 seconds to access the ramps after they spawn. -The final ramps will spawn during the last 30 seconds of the game. -IF you make it to the top, pick up the powerup and KILL the Warthog driver! Overall view of the map. The Warthog driver pushes the objects down, while... ...players below must avoid the falling objects. Some of the many objects that are able to be pushed down. After 1 minute of survival, these ramps will spawn. Get up quickly, because this platform will spawn 30 seconds after the first ramp spawns. And players stuck below WILL be killed. After an additional minute of survival, the final set of ramps spawn, leading to the teleporters. If a player reaches the teleporter, pick up the powerup, grab a weapon, and KILL THAT DRIVER. The Warthog driver has access to this "Hog Launch" in the red tower. Flip the hog into the cannon, and it will fly into the hole.
Are you aware of the fact that MetaWaddleDee, the guy who made Tetris in Halo 3, also made a version in Halo Reach?
Not to mention that map Toy Factory, which is also awesome. In any case though, I'm on vacation at the moment, and I don't like to go out and say, "This mustz suckz since it isn't originalz," so I'll wait till I get back to give you my opinion of the map. Looks very similar to the aforementioned maps though.
Ahahaha, I had the most fun I've had on halo in a loooong time while playing this map today! It was hectic and terrifying to find yourself stuck in that hole, and just as fun to ram the crates in as the warthog driver. You've done a great job timing everything, but I would say that I don't think players had enough time at the end to kill the driver. The first time I managed to survive and climb to the top I teleported to the drivers level, it took me too long to find my bearings, and the round ended before I could kill him. When you've spent a whole round shrieking like a little girl dodging the debris (as I did), you really crave the satisfaction of murdering the warthog driver at the end, so I'd recommend adding an extra 30 seconds or so (or even a minute if the timer only goes up by minutes) just to make sure that, if someone makes it to the top, the driver gets his just desserts. That said, this remains a great map/game mode, the kind of silly fun that we all play reach for. And yes, there are already Tetris maps/variants, but this one is certainly nothing like MetaWaddleDee's version, so people shouldn't complain about 'originality'. The game is very original, it's just the name 'Tetris' that people have heard before.
My bad, I suppose. I shouldn't have used the word 'original', I just meant that this version is very different to the MetaWaddleDee version. And seeing as both this map and Toy Factory are remakes of the old Halo 3 version, it's not like Toy Factory can claim complete originality either. I guess this is just a more faithful remake while Toy Factory played around with the format a bit more, and I think both maps deserve some merit for their efforts.
