Pretty cool in-water usage but the use of montana or alaska whatever one, wasnt reallly the most original. But I do like the idea of what you did here. Nice job getting invasion right.
I can't completely tell from what I've seen but the first phase looks ungodly hard. If you know anything about the invasion of Normandy or Iwo Jima that's what comes to mind. Look at the opening scene of saving private Ryan. It seems like a fairly accurate representation of how this would play. Nice try. But if your new to forge I do not suggest invasion. Invasions a gametype even the best have trouble with. Good luck with future forges.
If you try it, you'll find that it's not that hard to get through. The dificulty is about the same as the 1st phase of Invasion: Boneyard. There is 1 Needle Rifle in front of each "boat" (that's 3), and there are only 2 DMR's up top. While 3 give covering fire, it is possible for all Attackers to make it up the cliff (it's fairly easy to navigate through the explosions). I was purposefully trying to make the 1st phase basically the same as the "Taking The Beach" scene in Saving Private Ryan. I'm glad that came to mind when you saw this . Invasion is the gametype with the LEAST attention out every gametype there is. I love Invasion, and that is why I will continue to try and make Invasion Maps that are fun to play for both the Attackers and the Defenders.
Indeed, invasion is a rare gametype, but a mostly laggy and difficult one to play as well, the hardest part mostly is, to have everyone understand the objective at all times, of course, this map isn't too difficult and it's a good go. But personally I wouldn't enjoy it too much, because we basically only push forward and kill, aside from blowing out the door, that's cool. I'd like to see more complex events at each phase in an invasion game, that'd make things more interesting for me, and maybe for others as well. But, onto yours... It's a fine map you've made there, the beginning is somewhat overdone, but if you did it on purpose, and I forget about how many times it's been done, it's quite nice, and you've pulled it off quite well. I think you've mistaken how difficult it is, yes, there is an advantage for the elites, a very small advantage, but going up the hill with a lot of players isn't too easy, and only simply killing elites when they're up top is a piece of cake. So that might be somewhat of a minus, but aside that it gets along nicely and stuff starts "balancing" out. And again, the breaching the door part is pretty cool, so, nice job on that as well, the retrieval is judged by gameplay, so I wouldn't know, but it all seems nice to me, so an overall good job. It's just not my style yet.
thanks for your input. Next, I'll have to come up with a map that incorporates more events happening at the end of each phase. That seems to be what attracts a lot of people.
Looks interesting! I've actually never seen a map where you need to climb up a cliff, although yeah, it does look a little...difficult. Although the very first thing that popped into my head was how expensive those tank tracks are BTW, did you get a chance to test my invasion map?
I was unable to get a full team to test your map, Jakisthe, but I should be able to on Tuesday, when Invasion Fanatics has their next Game Night.
