God. Damn. Level 50 in 75 hours? I think I've played for near 300 hours and havent passed level 40 yet. :S Might get back into Oblivion before Skyrim comes out, for reminiscence sake.

I can't believe I'd never tried duplication glitches in Oblivion.
It was soooo funny. As was getting infinite gold from that guy in the Imperial City.
Even those things get me totally pumped for Skyrim.
    I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Yeh, the clone glitch was fun. I remember getting excited and cloning thousands of arrows. Then getting frustrated when I realised that its near impossible to carry over 4000 glass arrows unless you're a walking tank. Then I found other applications, such as cloning potions, items to enchant/sell, and lockpicks/repair hammers (when I wasn't a master Repairer). It is cheating, but, unless you're a purist, it makes it more fun.

I have finished it multiple times without using the clone glitch though, and it was still fun, but since I'd already finished it I saw no harm in trying it out at least once.

If you're looking for a challenge in the meantime, download Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. Also, The Lost Spires is an excellent mod that adds an Archaeology Guild with a great storyline and well thought-out quests. Look, I even linked them for you. Have fun, and good luck with OOO. **** is hard.

I would, Lynx, if I had Oblivion on PC. I've been an Xbox only Scroller since Morrowind. I do have a PC capable of running it now, but don't know if it'd be worth going out and buying another copy. I've thought about it a few times, but can't seem to get off the fence about it.

Pending the system requirements for Skyrim, I should definitely be getting that on PC, though. I've been missing out on all the awesome fan-created content for far too long.

I'd probably get Skyrim for PC instead of Xbox if my computer wasn't a giant pile of manure.

    Agreed.

Although I got Morrowind for my laptop last year, and the modding community are still releasing constant epicness for it, so it's still hugely playable.

If you have a shitty computer, I couldn't recommend a game more than Morrowind.

I'm just glad to see that the argonians don't look so stupid this time. Always has been my favorite race to play as. Breathing underwater. Although pretty much all the new races do look pretty awesome.

I think the Khajiit look awesome this time around, definitely more dangerous than their last iterations where they looked like stuffed toys. I think Ill have a hard time deciding which race I play as this time around.

I have Morrowind for the original Xbox and a copy for PC which I... don't seem to have given back to one of my mates after a few years of "borrowing" it. :S

Thought I might give it a whirl again recently, but it just feels empty to me without much spoken dialogue, and I've finished it so many times and explored pretty much every corner of the map that I don't know if tromping around on the 'island' would still hold its appeal after so long. I'd delve into the mods for it, but I honestly wouldn't know whats good and whats a steaming pile of offal.

Don't forget that Skyrim is built for console. If your PC can run Oblivion, then it should be able to run Skyrim. Lets not forget also that there will be just as many mods improving Skyrims visual quality as there will be mods improving it's performance for your PC.

Unless you want to play Skyrim at max settings. Skyrim's max settings > Oblivion's max settings. Skyrim is in 1080, Oblivion was in 720.

We don't know the requirements yet. It's frustrating having people who want to build a comp for BF3 and Skyrim when we don't even know the reqs.

Running games out now that have stupid high requirements is probably the best way to test right now. I can run Shogun 2 on high settings while having 4k units on screen without a problem so I should be good :D

tbh though i don't really care about getting maximum settings as long as the game runs smoothly.

Games are optimized too differently for that to be good enough, and you also have to consider how much better than Recommended reqs you want to account for the graphical mods that are inevitably released.

That's why I said it was the best way to test right now :p but really if you think about it, if your computer can run game A that you know for a fact will have just as high if not higher requirements than game B, then surely when game B comes out you'll be able to run it

My lappy can run StarCraft 2 with everything at ultra except a few, at about 40-50fps, and I checked online for the reqs for Oblivion and it rapes them, so I should be able to run Skyrim at a decent frame rate with reasonably high settings. Will have to experiment.

The only thing letting me down about this lappy is the GFX card, which is a GeForce GT 540M. Its not a bad card, but it isnt the best, either. T'would be awesome if there was some kind of separate GFX add on you could plug into a lappy that boosted your GFX capabilities. Had a look around and it involves a lot of bits and pieces. Namely, an Express Card slot, which my lappy doesn't have. I can buy an Express to USB adapter, but Im not sure if a contraption like this would be compatible, as Express to USB adapters sometimes don't detect PCIe devices. I'll have to look into this, anyone have any idea about these things? Im not a massive tech-head, but I have a basic idea of certain things.

Why not get skyrim on xbox? You obviously all have them so why not save yourself the hassle of worrying about computer reqs? I can understand with battlefield 3 because of the 64player multiplayer but skyrim?

Modding support. Have you seen some of the awesome mods out there for Oblivion? Also, I believe that the PC version comes with the SDK for the game.

I suppose that makes sense. I'll still be getting it on xbox though seeing as I get all my modding kicks from minecraft
