Remote Installation is a perfectly symmetrical map with 3 levels that get smaller as you go from top to bottom. It includes 2 bases with an open courtyard between them for each team(red and blue). Best played with BTB Slayer and CTF gametypes. Features game-specific objects for CTF and Slayer that dynamically effect game play. This map is made to support good teamwork and communication, as these teams usually win and due to the fact that it is symmetrical. Red and blue side are clearly marked in both Slayer and CTF to minimize confusion at the spawn. Below is a very good video by Tyler from MyForgings that really does it justice and explains the key points well. The only thing that he missed is what happens at the bottom of the map, but you'll have to download to find out. >: D

I'll have my other 2 maps, Boxed In and Criss Cross, up soon. Click here to download them early. Thanks! Tell me what you thought of it by commenting on the You Tube video, I don't want this to get deleted because of spam.

Oh, and here are some pictures:[IMG][IMG][IMG]

The middle looks pretty sweet, overal a very interesting map. The post could use a little more pictures if you up to do that. Ill also say that it would be nice to have a more unique base. Red/Blue. Just looks kinda simple.

that sucks about the pictures. but i do like the premise of the structure. i think it probably could be expanded on. maybe not if you ran out of budget, but if you have money left try to forge around the top level maybe close it off a bit. but its your map but i would be interested in a version 2

I would too, but unfortunately you're right on the money: got $10, no building blocks, no bridges and platforms, and no buildings.... very limiting lol

I saw this in the reach media section the other day. You submitted it to the My Forgings series didnt you?

Well from the video footage i saw, the gameplay looked very poor. That middle building causes grenade spam and camping. I dont like how youve used the prefab building pieces 'Tower, 3 Story' at the bases. The overall look and layout looks really awkward with very closed off paths killing the manueverability of the map. The bottom level is camped alot because you used the other prefab building piece 'bunkerm, round'. One reason you might have run out of budget is because youve used so many buildings. Never have i come across a map that plays well and uses all the buildings. thats just my personal experience

    Yes, that's the video link....
and little sugar added to the vinegar you just force fed me would have been nice.... or at least CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, not just commenting on it to tell me how bad it is. Hate mail should be sent in a PM. Also, they didn't use the suggested gametypes, so the video is not good grounds to base you're theory on. I don't have a fuel rod or focus rifle on the entire map. Plus I strongly discouraged them from using amour lock or jet pack, as these do mess with the gameplay. Do me a favor and PLAY the map before you trash it. Thanks.

I'm sorry, can you not take anything negative?
I could show you what actually hating on a map would be like if you wanted to. The fact of the matter is, I gave legitimate reasons why I think the map is sub-par. Also, you can't say 'don't use jetpack and armor lock!'. Its in the game, you should make your maps contour to them. Simply by allowing sprint jumps/evade jumps to detract from other abilities (jetpack and armor lock) you can attract smoother gameplay. If you're going to post in the competitive maps section, your map should play well for regular gametypes, NOT some modified version you created (invasion is an exception). And BTW I have been on the map. How else would I know about the bottom level camping?

And when did I ever use the word 'hate'? The fact that you completely ignored all my points, turned to blame the My Forgings team and then launched a personal attack amuses me sir.

    ok,
I can take negative stuff. But not when the entire post is negative. I admit I jumped the gun a little, but you couldn't find ANYTHING you liked? You're points were not ignored btw, I just don't see what to do with them. Maybe if a way to fix them was offered, I could. Don't get me wrong on the video My Forgings did either. I only had a problem with them inserting weapons that weren't on the map. Over all I found the video helpful. And yes I can say don't use jetpack or armor lock, because Bungie doesn't have them in Hemorrhage any more. They just don't work on certain maps. The gametype made by Bungie doesn't have either in it. I would like this to be the last of this discussion. I'm sorry if you took what I said to be a personal attack, but I didn't mean it to offend you personally. I've run into a lot of people who did not play on the map and then just PMed me that I suck at forge. My main point is this: If you are going to be negative, be positive as well. Find just one thing you liked and say "good job there" would it kill you? It really sucks when you post something on bungie.net or something like that and the only reply you get makes you feel like you did a crappy job. Thanks for the input, but please offer a way to fix the problems.

P.S. I did this in 2 days, so I get that it's sub-par. I made everything but the spawning when my xbox died and I had to finish it in an hour at my friends house. I had zero time for tests as well.

Well then my suggestion is to get a hold of a working xbox somehow, playtest, then revise and release an updated map and post.
