Today I show you a map preview of a recent burst of inspiration. The Gametype is called Fight the Evil (to allow me to create other monsters with the same concept) and the map is called Sea Serpent Attack. The gametype: The gametype is based on Haloball and involves golf balls being flung at a 4-headed Sea beast's weak points (each open mouth) automatically, The blues (defenders) must work to shoot the golf balls, forcing them to miss and Red currently only have to try and kill blues (from a long distance with DMR's - not too far, but not easy) but they may in the final verson also have to shoot a fusion coil to make the gold ball enter the man cannon (depending on how hard that is to play) or something altogether new. For instance, there are only 4 golf balls (one for each mouth) currently - I may up it to 2 balls per mouth Here is an overview: On the far left is the Red's spawn, the right is the monster. Red area: Basic but it works Blues spawn on the creature's back, with the splazer/assault rifle but have a sniper in front of them (as assault rifles are hard to win on this with) to pick up, then it's off through the teleporters: Once they're through the teleporters, they appear on one of the heads of the serpent (layed out to roughly match the position of the heads) Once there, they must shoot the golf balls to prevent them hitting the snake's mouths omnomnom golf balls As it stands, the mechanics work, I just need to test to see how easy/hard it is (I have thought of ways to make it easier/harder also) If you want in on the testing, send me (GT: The Moran) a FR and perhaps a message telling me you want to test... It should be either tonight (nowish) or tomorrow (or both). Also, there are plans to make a symmetric version of this, but no map has been started as of yet. Any feedback is welcome
All this talk about balls and mouths made me think of.. Playing catch with my dog. Anyway, I think that you could probably improve each head aesthetically. They don't really look like heads, just pieces of rock. If you could give it the shape of a serpent skull, that would improve it quite a bit.
