I've only just heard that you can build somewhere on forgeworld called the skybox where framerate issues are less and the lighting is better, can someone show me how to get to this magical place?
Just fly as high as possible, look directly up, and spawn a teleporter receiver. Then place a sender node somewhere in the normal area and go through it. If you go too close to the bottom of the "skybox" then you will get sucked back down. Going too high will reveal a soft kill barrier.
The sky box is between roughly 67 and 77 units up in the sky, i believe. When you build up there, if you fall, you hit the barrier below you and slow down until you get past it. So you want to create a hard kill zone at the edge of that barrier to speed up the death and respawn cycle. There is no discoloration on the blocks up there and the lighting is suppose to be more uniform through out. I am making a map there now with an external balcony that will look toward the falls. Otherwise, you typically keep it enclosed so that people do not know where your map is at on the canvas. Also, I placed a teleporter just above the barrier so that if I fall during forge, I immediately spawn up above my map and begin to fall onto my map. Then during game play, the hard kill is enabled and I never reach the teleporter.
Thank you to both of you, i've managed to get up there and am well on the way to building a new map with consistantly lit ojects
