IntroductionOk, this was supposed to be posted Tuesday but I had such a hard time logging on to Forgehub for who knows what reason and then we all had trouble with the halo servers so I feel like I have bad luck at the moment but I guess it's just inconvenience. I have also decided that I will instead of just having this as my last map but rather have two more posted. Oh, right the map. OverviewThis is my first asymmetrical map I have posted and my first map being built for 1v1 and 2v2. I thought it would be nice to share to those who like both so, what the heck. Obscured is in the large cave right under Montana built in a high ground style with one side lower than the other. The setting is more like a trapped mining facility and I could consider this a mix of Ghost Town and Desolation in minor ways. Unlike other maps, this one has a need for lighted objects as you will find out. Weapon List 2 plasma Pistols 2 Plasma Rifles 3 DMRs: 30 seconds Base DMRs 2 spare clips and Middle DMR 1 spare clip 2 Needle Rifles: 45 seconds 2 spare Clips 2 Magnums: 30 Seconds 2 spare Clips 1 Shotgun: 120 Seconds 1 spare clip 1 Needler: 90 Seconds 2 spare clips 2 Plasma Grenades: 30 seconds 4 Frag Grenade: 15 seconds Equipment 2 Health Packs: 15 seconds My Thank yous Special thanks to Securitym15 for his help, Marcass for the ideas especially the corner 2x2, and to TomIsHigh for his help with the health pack. Also thanks to IR I E G L E R, ShKai, and MCGreen24 and IN I C K for testing. Now For Some Pictures! Final Words I really hope everyone enjoys my map as it has been a struggle to even post it, then again every one of my posts has been a struggle to get up. If I have forgotten anybody that helped, tell me as it has happened. Enjoy guys, it is for you guys to love or violently destroy. Until next time... which is September.
your pictures are a little obscured by the words... lol besides that i will DL and take a look! i spy a few things that seem to float in the pictures, not sure if you meant to do that, but i would suggest attaching them to something if not just deleting them. otherwise, (looks like) a good use of the tunnel space!!
Did we play this in our group Red v Blue Customs? Or is this a newer, edited version. I know thay we played this map and it was a expirimental version, but did you add from that? The words on your pictures are a little distracting also. Anyways~~ This map was pretty fun, thought we played Ninjanaut on it. Im pretty sure the FFA or Multi-team gameplay would be awesome too. Very nice design and unique object placement.
i havent seen any good maps made in that part of forgeworld. but this one looks like an exception. pretty good design im going to look forward to checking this out.
That should be fixed and no, nothing is floating just appears so. Thanks for the comment. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Yes, you have played this (hint hint look at the testers list) and yes, the 1x1 talls have been deleted, cover has been added, and the needler has been moved. Hope it is an exception, Thanks for the comment.
The pictures make it appear brighter than it is, in fact it is much darker and the lights from the objects you used have a far cooler effect. This was a fun map that will stay on my list for as long as i own reach, thanks for the great creation!
This map holds some unforgettable FFA gameplay and has great balnce for an assymetric map. The group , Red v Blue Customs, really enjoyed this and can't wait to play some Team Variants on this one.
Nice to see something built in an unsual spot, but I suggest adding more colors, it may make the map more interesting/color.
It's always no problem, and as always, thanks for the great comment Tom. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. It was interesting seeing this go through these steps and changes from Neuron. Thanks for commenting. [br][/br]Edited by merge: On team games, there should be more color but I may add in some more. Glad you liked it.
Listenin to some Kanye, thinkin about map making. Im really stuck on my new maps production. They start and then fall apart like I have no follow-through with my design. Im going to end up posting my newest map Apothia soon. F- the action shots! Anyways to the map. I think on all you maps, you weapon placement is kina weird. The DMR's straight againt the wall may give the map a unique feel, but they are more noticible when they have a tilt. I would switch that up if you want to. Of course its up to you. This map is great either way.
@McGreen do not post on my maps twice, that is rather annoying considering you came up with something that has nothing to deal with the map and then talked nothing about it than the DMRs. No offense, but I think you really need to understand good criticism.
this map is easily the best cave map i have seen in forgeworld. And i love how this map turned out, partly because i was there when you started it. its awesome that you were able to do this map without using the lights category, just using the lights that are on the bridges and blocks.
@Marcass2021 Oh man, I am very glad to find you liked it. It was hard working around the area but it was worth giving the idea it is a forgeable place in forgeworld. I appreciate the comment Marcass and next time I will give you the heads up on the next map date.
Very nice structures you got here. I like how you used the cave ... not may people forge there. The map could use some color... but its not really a problem. The map is unique, and from what i read, ffa is really fun. Ill definitly try this out. got my dl
@Caucasian Invasion Why, thank you good sir. The cave was hard to work with but I am confident with it. I apologize for the lack of color but when I originally posted it, I felt confident it would not be needed because of the work with the nature in the cave. Guess not but I promise that will not be a problem with my newest map, Breeze. Thanks for the comment.
You know a very long time ago I tried to build a map in the cave and failed miserably. Undoubtedly one of the hardest placed to forge in forge world, and you seemed to pull it off very nicely. I would say the thing that i was impressed with the most would be that you used no lights on this map, everything is lit by objects. Another thing that I liked were the height variations in this map, surprisingly you pulled that off too. I would say my only complaint with the map is something that can not really be avoided considering your location choice. Several times I would be fighting someone on the bottom floor and randomly get stuck on an object. Some of the places are very tight, and hard to maneuver around. Although, like I said, I would not expect anything else because it is in the cave. All in all prob one of the best cave maps that I have played on! Great job sugar!
@availablemoth Oh the irony, I admit it I have gotten stuck too and I was very upset about that. Sorry the map caused that but like you said, it is hard working around that. Thank you for the cave comment, I appreciate the feedback and the positive reaction to it thanks a lot man, I will be online in a few weeks or less. P.S. get that nice ass map out real soon
