The Lobby Creator: THE Fuglystick Map: Forgeworld Track: The Lobby Checkpoint count: 21 Average Lap: 1:17 Description: The Lobby is a hotel themed aesthetic/city race map. It contains aesthetic pieces like a fountain, a Clerk's desk for check in, reasonably working staircase ramps, chandeliers, walkways, and a bar. The bar I happen to be extremely pleased with, as it came out better than I anticipated. The lap is set up so that you can go one of two routes that mirror each other throughout the race. This allows for plenty of collisions and spectacular wrecks. Additionally, because this map is extremely non linear, I've found that it also handles reasonably well with rocket race. When playing rocket race, you may want to switch out the rocket for the concussion rifle, depending on how you think the map should be played, since it is a rather enclosed map that relies alot on vertical movement as well as on flat ground. Video: The Lobby - A Halo: Reach Racetrack‏ - YouTube Pictures: (I accidentally saved the thumbnail pic of this I believe. Its the starting area) What inspired your creation? Ducain23's map "The Docks" made me really want to try and focus on an aesthetic race more than any thing else. How long did it take to create? I'm not sure. I've worked on it in bits and pieces before now. I'd guess around 10-15 hours on my own, with xAwesomE ToasTx coming in to help me out for the last 3 or 4 hours. I actually kept this map under wraps, and me and him were the only ones who saw it before I uploaded it to youtube. What aspect took you the longest to get right? Probably the elevators and the big jump at the top of them. I played around with those a while to make sure those parts worked as I wanted them too.
This map is great. It's really refreshing to see a race map different from the endless sea of floating death tracks where you fall off after every corner. The aesthetics look great to. The only thing I can think of which requires changing would be the fact that the entrance doors have no scenery behind them. Other than that, the map is perfect.
wow this is cool its like your racing around in a mall xD ive never seen a race like this , but it reminds me more of a stunt house too very cool im sure u have inspired tons of other forgers with this map post ^^
Thanks for the comments guys! I originally wanted racers to go outside the front of the hotel and race along the waterfalls, but my budget kept from adding to the outside. The reason I didn't put any aesthetics outside the glass is because its hard to really notice it once your racing, and that I have only $30 of budget left to spend on the map.
Well done, this looks like a swell race track! Although, in my opinion, it's very confusing on where to go next and how to get there, so if I ever play this map, it probably will be play with rocket race or some other variant. Overall, I love the design!
If you know the gametype, I would suggest savage tracks. Rather than just move around and attempt to hinder racers by knocking them off their wheels with rockets, its much like Battletracks in that you have to use a sniper/laser to try and kill the other team as you run around collecting checkpoints.
The song of this video sounds very sweet! Is it fruity loops studio? Its pretty nice. Make me feel uncontrolable. As for the track its very cool too. The lift is perfect, the jumps are cool. Its so epic when you get a time where everyone is split and everyone is just swurving to avoid others.
