Hello everyone! It's Zop, and I have an unfinished Infection map for you today.

‪Halo Reach Infection Map: Nuclear Silos‬‏ - YouTube

High tech stuff, y'know. It's made for Infection, possibly some slayer variant with less or no grenades...

Also, on this one, the table at 0:30 is actually an easter egg. The two custom powerups indicate areas that have been nuked. The one in the mountains is where my map Wreckage is, and the one above the city is the one where my Post-War map is. The Street Cones indicate still functioning Silos, the one near the mountains is the one you are currently in. The Magnum indicates surviving US Army Forces that are still active.

There you have it. Suggestions welcome.

I played this yesterday, lol. There were some things that needed fixing, but I'll let the RH tell you what the problems were.

It was a very creative infection map though. I liked the use of the spiral staircases, even if it was a tad confusing.

Thanks for the reply. I figured this would be overlooked with all the threads being made by more known users...

And yes, I get confused on it myself. It's why I added the AA hologram signs, trying to make navigation better.

    fixd

Anyway, it was a fun infection map. The only problems seemed to be the silo, as creative as they were. I loved every other room, though. :)

Thanks for the reply. Two is honestly more than I expected...

Huh. Silos being the issue. I guess I could see that. Not what I expected though.

I look forward to reading the Testers Guild review however.

I was going to say, I really don't think the Review Hub is even involved with this map, and it probably won't ever will be...

Also, I can't post now. Must keep my post count at Lucky Number 69.

Ah, I recognize you from some of your aesthetic map postings on BNet. Didn't you make an Invasion map with CAPS? I wanted to check that out... Ah, but I'm off-topic; apologies.

This map looks pretty good. It's highly-detailed, so there's some risk of split-screen disco; if you didn't specifically make this with Matchmaking ambitions then that is not a problem.

The silo worries me. The large circular ramps aren't very configurable as Forge pieces go; they're just these long, walled paths with no alternate entryways. Hard to flank a Human if they just stay in the silo -- which is a problem, because the Shotgun kill range on an unshielded target is about 3.1wu and you can't initiate a Sword lunge until you're within 2.2wu; Zombies need to flank or mass to kill, and the ramps limit both of those options. I can also see some Magnum-sniping happening with the gaps in the circular ramps' walls, if you're using a typical Infection game variant.

The map looks very nice aesthetically -- like your other creations. I can't rate the gameplay 'til I play it, though.

Yes, the map me and good ol' Capslock are making is still in the works, but it's turning out well.

As for the map itself, I didn't even consider matchmaking in the first place.

And yes, I'm aware. I playtested it about an hour ago using a custom gametype which buffed the Zombies, and the humans didn't win a single round, or even stay alive for very long. So I was kinda concerned about the Zombies being too tough.

And yes, the stairwells will likely be an issue. I just love their aesthetic appeal. However, the issue can be solved by simply adding walkways through the middle from side to side. That'll ruin my aesthetic "realism" appeal, but I'll probably do it anyways.

And finally, no this will not be a standard infection variant. You'll have an AR instead of a Magnum, and possibly some altered damage dealing / resistance settings.

Wait, the large circular ramp structure isn't the silo?

One could think of the structure as being deactivated, or in the midst of repairs when all hell broken loose (the latter meaning that the walkways were erected as temporary structures to give workers easier access to parts of the structure).

Ah, so my concerns regarding the Magnum were unfounded. Good to hear.
