Everything in btb. That playlist was my favorite but now it makes me want to go back to MW2. I just wish there was a hemorrhage playlist.
Not giving community maps their own playlist. When I go into Team Slayer or BTB I expect to play maps that I know, not nameless garbage that I'll never remember. Why the hell are the maps so bad? Have they never heard of Forge Hub? I seriously think Forge Hub as a community should be in charge of a community playlist.
Does FH have that kind of status in the Forging community? Because that would rock, but I doubt it would ever happen.
As do I, but I can still dream. I'd say Forge Hub is pretty well known, even if Bungie don't hang around here much.
It's the fact that they removed the banshee when they brought Ascention back. If the other team got hold of the banshee then camping there would be nearly impossible.
But with the ridiculously unfair advantage the banshee offers, on such a small map, it would then turn into a banshee *****-fest.
Actually... I played a custom game a while back on a remake of Ascension (similar to Pinnacle, but not actually the same map) and put the banshee on it for kicks. What happened was that those nasty snipers (plus the rockets) tore it to pieces every single time before it got more than a kill or two. I could see it occasionally going the other way where the banshee takes the sniper out and then dominates, but at least in this one game, the banshee was close to useless except for getting its pilot killed. Unfortunately I don't know if there's any chance of balancing it, with the way the banshee is in Reach. They made it too powerful and then compensated by making it also too fragile.
Agreed. They should give us a playlist and as a community we would vote maps into the playlist. Who even plays SWAT??? haha
Multiteam or FFA on symmetrical maps like atom that are meant for Red vs Blue. it doesn't work weapons placement wise, and the spawning gets kind of wonky. adding that crappy jetpack gametype in grifball. The tank placement on boneyard has always bugged me. it essentially makes the tank useless 90% of the time, because its going to be destroyed within the first 15 seconds of the match, and almost every time it respawns the same thing will happen. Either no tanks, or each team gets a tank. I don't even say this because I want to drive it, I just think its stupid for the gauranteed 2-5 deaths that happen around the tank everytime I play on boneyard.
Seconded on that tank. I always rush it because I'll feel stupid if the other team gets it, but you're lucky if you get one or two kills before the sniper/rockets/getting hijacked combo blows you to pieces. If they wanted to try a neutral tank, maybe they should think about putting it in the much less contested area on the other side of the building. I don't know how that would work, but at least the tank wouldn't just be a spot for a bunch of people to die simultaneously. More likely though, they just need to ditch it entirely and put another anti-vehicle weapon somewhere so the banshee is less dominant.
I agree, think it'd be better if it was placed on that "neutral" half of boneyard where almost no one goes. I don't even think most people know there is a warthog and a ghost over there. There needs to be a boneyard variant that makes use of the entire space for BTB. in fact, i need to get to work on that lol Another thing that bugs me is the lack of the transport falcon in MM or customs. I miss the h3 days where I would fly a Hornet in, pick up the flag/bomb carrier, and get him out of a fairly hot LZ in time to score and win the game
This is a tangent relative to the thread title, but it goes to show you how ill-considered Boneyard and The Spire are as big team battle maps that both of them have vast amounts of real estate that no one uses. I've had plenty of fun games on both, but Bungie did a sloppy job of converting them from campaign spaces to multiplayer ones. Boneyard is the worse of the two, with something like 40% of the map going untouched except in invasion. And The Spire - does anyone venture far away from the titular spire except to get the banshee or indulge in some low profile sniping?
The affiliation will be continued with 343 from what I've heard. We have already gotten in trouble a while back for people going off other places saying forgehub is great and we should have control of community playlists and all. For those here who joined more recently. This is not a joke.
Well kiss my grits, I did not know that FH was an official affiliate of Bungie/343. Thats pretty cool. Fortunately though, I dont post on other sites related to Forge, so I wouldn't go around saying that my maps are teh l33t3s7 because I am a member of FH. Anyway... Uh, me? Pretty much the only playlist I play. And, last time I checked, its usually the second most populated playlist next to TS. :\
True. I personally do not care for swat and find it repetitive and boring but thats just me. As for the complaining about Bungie thing, I'm not saying they should give the forgehub community control over a playlist. They should give the ENTIRE community a playlist where maps could be voted in.
Sorry, but I think that's an awful idea. You have way too much confidence in the community to not vote in crap.
cc is doing a good job but bungie is not accepting most of their submissions hopefully 343 will give cc more power over what goes into the playlists
The community playlist is something that I think needs to be overseen by a benevolent dictator type - somebody who will consider the votes and throw out the worst trash (regardless of the votes) as well as move in some good maps that simply need to be in there due to quality. The problem is, I think very few people would have discerning enough of an eye and broad enough of tastes in map and game style to be trusted in this role.
Thats fair, I dont expect everybody likes it. Just lettin' ya know the facts. And as for the community playlist thing, I dont know if giving the community control over a playlist would be a good idea. Too many youngin's would vote in **** maps because they can, and then the playlist would become flooded with garbage, and no one would play it. Like ND said, it should be moderated by some kind of overseer. But I suppose that was what Bungie was doing in the first place. Honestly, I dont really care, because I dont venture out of SWAT or Team Snipers very often, and neither of those playlists see community maps. Apart from Atom, anyway.
