I got turned off by the trailer, when I saw the multiplayer and how linear/simple it looked. Maybe I'm wrong, haven't tried it yet.

Whenever you shoot landmines, you can catch them with your stasis field before they detonate and throw them at other landmines. I do this to conserve ammo and use the landmines against other necromorphs.

Also, at some points in the game, where you remove the batteries to get past an environmental hazzard, I sometimes plug them back in if it's beneficial. I can re-call at one point watching my friend play and die several times at this one part where he had to remove a battery, which was powering an impassable electrical field, and then fight a swarm of necromorphs. I told him to plug the battery back in and watch the necromorphs run into the electricity and die.

I loved the first game, and the second one was absolutely amazing. However I have to disagree for a few little things such as, yes the fighting and action sequences were better but I honestly think the first one was scarier and much more terrifyingly intimate. In the first game, Isaac WAS you. They basically only gave him name as a tribute to Isaac Asimov and some other sci-fi writer with the last name "Clark" (I forgot who). In Dead Space 2 I feel the intimacy, the closeness and terrifying moments I felt were directed towards me, was gone. I honestly think they only gave Isaac a voice and evolved him into, what i thought was, a very shallow character. He doesn't seem like a realistic character, whereas Stross and Ellie seemed way more realistic. The first Dead Space was sheer, intimate horror and I took every event very personally, knowing Isaac was supposed to be me. Dead Space 2 was lighter, and wasn't horrifying like the first game. The new enemies had revolting attacks and I sometimes felt disgusted with myself for butchering the Pack. Over all the second game is fun, and action-packed. To me the series seems to mirror the movies Alien and Aliens. Both are good, but completely different things.
