Under any other circumstances, I'd give a back story behind this map. However, the final three maps in this series is where the plot thickens and actually begins to tell a story. Therefore, the story portion will be saved until the actual post. Anyway, the Incision series has been something I've been working on since Reach came out. At the moment, I'm about 67% done (3 maps built, 2 of which need further testing, 1 map completely planned out, 1 half built built but unplanned). It's a series of journey infection maps, meaning humans and zombies take multiple hits. One thing that will set my map apart from all others is the fact that I work to include 2-3 new features in each map that has not been utilized in a map before. The interesting aspect about Enervate is that not only is it compatible with my gametype, but it also works with Invasion (although I will need help with some of the intricacies). And, with some minor alterations, it could become a purely holdout map. The map stretches the length of Montana and reaches the tip of Alaska. But, enough description, onto the pictures. The initial human spawn. The pelican was designed and constructed by TheOlympusPrime. Shoot any and all praise his way. The Shack Inn (pronounced "Shackin'"). Further detail about this building will be given in the post. The bridge. The military sent countless men there to defend what was on the other side. The effort failed. The jail. Pretty self explanatory. If you look close, one of these pictures show a feature that was mentioned earlier. This feature in particular is an aesthetic one that contributes minimally to gameplay. Incision:The Meeting l Incision1: Nightlife l Incision2: Pessimal l Incision3: Ambivalence l Incision4: Enervate l Incision5: Termination
Iitttsss sooooo fuunnnn even though haven't ever gotten to the bridge the many times i've played -.-. Love this campaign, and i hope you continue to make more journey maps in the future! (and maybe in halo 4 )
Honestly I've never played any of the incision series before. I guess I'll download the previous ones and see what all the fuss is about. Maybe it'll give me something to put on this Friday. I do very much enjoy these style of infection maps compared to the 'camp until you die' type.
The spawn time on the pelican and ramp have been reduced (as stated in the other post). Hopefully this should allow for humans to access the bridge. Also I've begin setting this up for Invasion, though I don't think I'll be testing the invasion game during the TGIF. As far as the fifth map goes, it's about seventy percent done. However, I've come to a standstill due to the fact that I cannot determine what two rooms to add. All I'll say is that the final map is in a scientific facility. Any idea about what two rooms would be in a building like this?
A reactor is already on of the rooms, unfortunately. A control room is certainly a possibility, though it would be difficult to represent that, both in location and design. Anyone have any other ideas?
"The initial human spawn. The pelican was designed and constructed by TheOlympusPrime. Shoot any and all praise his way." I had so much fun testing this, but it was too hard tomake it to the bridge. You should probaly make the zombies a bit easier to kill, and if you have any morev budget and are looking for some cool things to put into your map, like a radio(small), Im free to do that. Ive been wanting to put my little FM buddy in a map :]
Yeah, last testing session was an oddity, more humans than normal were infected at the beginning of each round, meaning it was a great deal more difficult to survive. In previous testing sessions, about five or six people were still alive at the 1:30 point, which is when the pelican spawns now. I'll have to do some more testing to tweak the spawn times. I can't exactly use a different gametype since it's uniform throughout the entire campaign. Altering it would change all of the maps. And unfortunately, I have 0 budget. I ran out just as I finished making changes. However, once I finish the basics of my next map, if budget provides, I'll shoot you an invite.
